El elenco de iZombie habla sobre el episodio del cerebro de chica adolescente de Major
Por Meagan Damore - 10 Abril 2017

On tonight’s episode of “iZombie,” “Zombie Knows Best.” The second episode of the show’s third season will find Liv and Major consuming the brains of a father and his teenage daughter — with a twist. For reasons to be made clear in the episode, Liv will eat the father while Major eats the daughter, which forces the two characters into a strange, but hilarious father-daughter dynamic. During a set visit, the “iZombie” cast discussed what it was like to see Robert Buckley take on the personality of a fifteen-year-old-girl.

“A father and his fourteen-year-old ice skating enthusiast daughter die in a car crash. Liv ends up eating the dad, so Major has to eat the fourteen-year-old girl — and guys, I just went wild,” Buckley shared. “The writers had kind of seen me do a bit where I’m highly emotional and melodramatic, and so they were like, ‘Just kind of do that. Just riff.’ And the only thing that was weird about it was how little of a stretch it was. Like, I’d love to tell you that I Daniel Day Lewis-ed it and I watched ‘Mean Girls.’ I did nothing. I learned my lines and I was just like, ‘I’m just going to let my inner Mean Girl fly.’ And I’ll tell you what: she soared.”

“Guys, I sing like four times this season,” he added. “This next episode, I have another singing thing. I am the worst singer on the show. There’s the David Anders and the Rose McIvers, and then on the other end of the spectrum is the Robert Buckleys, and that’s the one you try to stay away from or earmuff it. I think I sing four times, but yes, in that episode, I jam out to Katy Perry. By the way, that is not a karaoke favorite. She is hard to sing. You ever tried? Don’t.”
Major and Liv in "iZombie"

Though Buckley has harsh take on his own singing voice, Rose McIver — who plays Liv Moore — found it delightful. “I mean, one of the earliest ones we see — which I love so much — is Liv and Major on father/daughter brains. Liv is the father and Major is the teenage daughter, so it’s the part Robert Buckley was born to play: sixteen-year-old schoolgirl. He’s singing along to pop songs on the radio in just a beautiful falsetto,” she said.

Buckley will also give Ravi some much-needed love advice during the episode. “Major giving Ravi love advice on Peyton while on teenage girl brain, so basically it’s a fourteen-year-old girl being like, ‘Is she the most selfish person in the world?’ And then, on the turn of a dime, he’s screaming Katy Perry in his face and being like, ‘This is so you and Peyton!'” Buckley recalled. “So watching Rahul play off that, being just ‘What?’, is so great. It’s just like one extreme and the straight man. So yeah, he killed that stuff.”

Unfortunately, Major’s advice won’t help Ravi in the long run. “It doesn’t do so much for Ravi’s relationship as it shows the two different brains that both Liv and Major are on, because obviously one eats the father and one eats the teenage daughter,” explained Ravi himself Rahul Kohli. “So Ravi, who’s going through his own sort of drama over what he’s just learned about Peyton and Blaine, seeks advice from Liv and he gets one aspect of that, and then he gets Major, which is the teenage daughter brain, and he gets these conflicting things. It’s a great scene! Again, it has nothing to do with Ravi; it just shows how great Robert Buckley is at that character. He really killed it. It’s a fun scene.”

Executive producer Dan Etheridge also revealed his excitement for the upcoming episode. “I forget who it was — in might have been Diane [Ruggiero-Wright], I can’t remember — in the writers’ room, someone came up with Major being the daughter, and everybody erupted in laughter and said, ‘That’s it,'” he recalled. “We were looking forward to that since someone came up with that in early June. We were so excited about it, the expectations were so high, and they really nailed it. I mean, it’s funny, because with this one, Liv is almost in some ways the straight man, because seeing Major as the daughter is the real comic gold. When you have a chance to see that, they knocked it out of the park. We knew they would.”

iZombie Season 3 started with a whole new dynamic now that Clive knows the truth about zombies and Liv's personality shifts. It gets interesting in tonight's iZombie Season 3 Episode 2, "Zombie Knows Best," when Major eats teenage girl brains and Liv eats the brains of her father.

BuddyTV spoke with Robert Buckley on set in Vancouver about portraying a teenage girl, singing a Katy Perry song and working more closely with Malcolm Goodwin (Clive).

Buckley didn't hold anything back when portraying teenage girl Major, "I just went wild." He didn't have any difficulties channeling the personality of a teenage girl and had a lot of fun with the role.

"The only thing that was weird about it was how little of a stretch it was," Buckley says. He decided to just go for it and thought, "I'm just going to let my inner mean girl fly. And, I'll tell you what-- She soared."

Buckley also sings a Katy Perry song, though "sing" maybe be a questionable word to use based on his description. "I'm the worst singer in the world," Buckley says. "By the way, that is not a karaoke favorite. She is hard to sing."

Now that Clive knows about the zombie secret, Major and Clive are interacting more this season. Buckley had a blast working with Goodwin this season and notes, "I'm so unprofessional and juvenile around him."

While filming a scene for Episode 2, Buckley tried to get Goodwin to break and finally succeeded. Watch the above interview video for the funny story!

- Robert Buckley sobre cómo el nuevo trabajo de Major afectará a sus relaciones (comicbook):
Robert Buckley sobre cómo el nuevo trabajo de Major afectará a sus relaciones
Por Russ Burlingame - 18/04/2017

In the final moments of iZombie's season 3 premiere, Robert Buckley's Major Lilywhite, having spent much of the episode in a fruitless attempt to resume his normal life after being accused of being a serial killer last season, decided to join up with the zombie mercenaries at Fillmore Graves.
izombie-zombie-knows-best

How will this impact his relationships with Liv, Clive, and the rest of "Team Z," who were pretty taken aback when they first learned of the new career path?

“Initially, not directly. I think everyone is happy that he found a job,” Buckley said during a set visit. “But it is something that will eventually find him and the group coming to an impasse and it’s going to pose some interesting questions for everyone in the group. It’s a main component of Major’s arc this year.”

It also sounds like it may not be as simple as Major defecting at a key moment, either; instead, it sounds like there will be a point where his loyalties to Fillmore Graves puts him at odds with the others because he's a true believer.

That's an interesting direction to take, since last season Major worked with the bad guys, but only under serious duress.

“I think the main difference between the two is that Major was blackmailed into working for Max Rager. It was something he never wanted a part of and he only did against his will. Fillmore Graves is something that Major joined of his own free will,” Buckley told ComicBook.com. “And granted, his job search was pretty fruitless; he wasn’t in a great place, and his options were kind of limited. But I think what appeals to Major at Fillmore Graves is that he has a chance to do something that matters. We’ve seen that Major is a caretaker; he worked at Helton Shelter, he likes to nurture people and do work that has importance and value. At Fillmore Graves, at least initially, he actually believes in what he’s doing, and I think a large part of the arc this season is his search for meaning. Especially in the wake of the Chaos Killer thing, he hasn’t really had much of a life. His love life is in shambles, he has no job…we’re trying to find out who Major is again, and I think he’s hoping that by doing his job, it could end up being a part of that.”

A new iZombie airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW

David Anders sobre el cómo Blaine sobrelleva la posibilidad de que recuperará sus recuerdos
Por Jolie Lash - 02 Mayo, 2017 10:55 AM PDT

Blaine DeBeers is a new man on The CW's "iZombie."

Last season, the brain dealer took the cure and lost all of the memories of his previous life and bad deeds.

Since that time, he's been working to create a new life for himself and formed a romantic relationship with Peyton. But, no one around him has let him forget about his old ways.

Since he was given the newest test vial from Ravi, there has been a lot of talk about what will happen when/if memories of old Blaine come flooding back, and how that could affect his relationship with Peyton.

"I think there is a bit of panic, but … he likes where this new life is going," David Anders, who plays Blaine, told AccessHollywood.com, when we asked about how his character is feeling at the minute, ahead of Episode 4. "He obviously still has this attraction to Peyton and who wouldn't, and it seems to be panning out for him at this moment."

And right now, David said Blaine is taking things "moment by moment."

For the first two seasons, Blaine was a villain on the show, one who put himself first, and David does miss some of the swagger old Blaine had.

"You miss the smarmy charm and the one-liners. He had such great words they provided him with to say. But the new guy, he's like a newborn baby, you know what I mean? He's just kind of learning the world and learning all these terrible things that this guy, who people say he is, did in the past, which of course, is another fun thing to play with," he said. "And, the benefit of it is ... it kind of washes away all of his sins, essentially, so that Blaine can go on living in the 'iZombie' universe, in the world. Gives him another chance, if you will."

One person who has had a stronger degree of skepticism about new Blaine than is Liv Moore (Rose McIver), who still remembers Blaine as the guy who killed her boyfriend, Lowell. And, there will still be tension between the two.

"Blaine does something that irks Miss Moore. So, yeah, I think Liv is always the one who's most suspicious of Blaine, but she has to work with Blaine, more than she'd like to. And I always think that's fun when it's Blaine and Liv being like Hardy Boys together," he said.

Also set to be explored in upcoming episodes is how Blaine will deal with his father, Angus, played by "Prison Break's" Robert Knepper. The relationship was rocky when Angus was first introduced on the show, and viewers will have to wait and see how it pans out now between father and son, especially since Angus just started a new business with Don-E – the Scratching Post.

"There will be more with all three of us and there will be more with just Blaine and Angus, and that's some juicy stuff you've got to look forward to coming up. I think that's [episode] 7 or 8," David said.

"iZombie" continues Tuesday at 8/7c on The CW.
