Your devoted fans at Divine Intervention, the official online forum of the Lois and Clark fan site Happy Ending, have joined together in appreciation of our favourite Lois Lane to show our heartfelt desire to see her in every episode of ‘Smallville’. The gifts we have sent to you are a part of Operation Wild Cherry, and we’d like to tell you how much your Lois Lane means to us.

In the words of Lois: “I think that when the right girl walks into your life you’ll know.”

Since your first appearance as Lois Lane back in 2004, we’ve known you were the right girl. Not only are you an incredibly talented actress, you know the character you portray, you understand what she means to generations of fans and you genuinely care about her. Added together it shows in the amazing job you have done portraying Lois Lane over the years. You have made us laugh with Lois, cringe for her when she gets it wrong, cheer for her when she gets it right and cry with her as if our own hearts were breaking. Your journey with Lois has become our journey too.

We’re with you every step of the way and we want the ‘Smallville’ show runners to know that too. Thanks to you we understand why there’s no Superman without Lois Lane. So we’re asking the show runners to give Lois her rightful place and the screen time that will allow you to work with them to fully develop her character. We’ve launched a postcard, letter and email campaign. We've created videos and artwork to spread the word around the world on the internet. We have an online petition and have sent Operation Wild Cherry pens to the 'Smallville' offices in Los Angeles. We believe as the writers guide Clark Kent closer to his destiny, now more than ever is the time for Lois Lane to stand by his side.

Voltaire said: “Appreciation is a wonderful thing; It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.” Your portrayal of Lois Lane does that for us, and so much more. Thanks to Lois we know that it’s all right to be who we are, to make mistakes, to have vulnerabilities and that - flaws and all - we can have the kind of love that stands the test of time, no matter what.

Your fans at Operation Wild Cherry ~ The Campaign for 22 in 9.

Dear Peterson and Souders:

The purpose behind the Operation Wild Cherry campaign was not just to do something to show Erica Durance our love and affection as a loyal fandom but it was also to let you people know how much we are thankful to you for bringing the character of Lois Lane to Smallville. We also wanted to let you guys know that over the last 5 years or so, we have fallen in love with this character so much that now it is impossible for us to imagine this show without Durance and her perfect portrayal of Lois Lane.

The credit goes to you for making her so lovable by writing her so well and to Durance for playing Lois Lane so perfectly, and for that reason, we want to see more of her. When Season 8 began, we were told that the story will focus on Lois and Clark and we hoped that we’ll get to see more of our favorite actress on the show but unfortunately, Erica ended up with even less than her 13 episode count which is highly disappointing for us not only as her fans but as longtime Smallville fans because we thought that this season will finally touch upon the story of Lois and Clark’s struggle as reporters at Daily Planet and Clark’s super hero destiny.

The story of the show is now gradually shifting its focus towards Clark Kent’s future as Superman and every single Superman fan knows that Lois Lane plays a key part in his life as a reporter and super hero. She is the woman behind Superman and we as Lois Lane and Erica Durance fans want to see more of that awesome woman on this show.

Erica’s perfect portrayal of Lois, her dedication to this show and her character, the effort she makes to give Lois so many shades and play each one of them with great conviction and talent are the reasons why we believe that she deserves to get more screen time and that she should appear in more episodes. We as her fans and as the fans of this show deserve to see more of her because Smallville is just so much better, brighter, wonderful and Superman-focused when Lois/Durance is around.

Erica has embodied Lois Lane of this generation for us. She has made Lois a real, believable, flawed yet lovable, determined, strong and an emotional character. We love the way she has been written this season and simply loved every episode that she appeared in. Whether it were the funny and romantic Committed and Hex or the intense Bloodline and Infamous or any other episodes, we simply loved Erica’s presence and the storylines of these episodes. We definitely want more of this Smallville and we definitely want more of Erica Durance and her awesome Lois Lane.

Thanks a lot for giving us Durance as Lois Lane and we really hope that for the next season, our wish and desire of seeing Erica Durance in every episode of Smallville is going to come true. We hope that we will not have to wait for weeks to get an episode of our favorite actress and we’ll be able to watch her every week.
