September 9, 2010 (Burbank, CA) – The series premiere of HELLCATS accomplished something no other UPN or CW show has ever done, matched or built on its TOP MODEL lead-in. HELLCATS improved on the cycle 15 debut of TOP MODEL in the key demographics, including 8% in adults 18-34 (1.4/4), 3% in total viewers (3.0mill), 21% in females 12-34 (2.3/7), 15% in persons 12-34 (1.5/5), 87% in female teens (3.0/11), 72% in total teens (1.9/7), according to preliminary live plus same day Nielsen ratings for Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010.
Hellcats retained 100% of its Top Model lead-in among women 18-34 (2.0/6) and women 18-49 (1.7/5).
Hellcats delivered the largest non-Top Model performance in The CW’s Wednesday 9-10pm time period in 3 years (since 9/19/07, since Gossip Girl’s series premiere) among total viewers (3.0mil), and best non-Top Model delivery in in 2 years (since 9/10/08) among women 18-34 (2.0/6).
The younger-skewing Hellcats ranked first in the hour among total teens and female teens, and ranked second in the hour with females 12-34.
Hellcats also built at the half hour by 15% in adults 18-34, 5% in women 18-34, 8% in adults 18-49, 6% in women 18-49, 14% in persons 12-34 and 9% in females 12-34.
Hellcats dramatically improved over the series debut of TBL (which premiered here last year), blowing it away by 81% in women 18-34, 75% in adults 18-34, 100% in adults 18-49, 89% in women 18-49, 114% in persons 12-34, 113% in females 12-34 and 114% in total viewers.
With the debut of AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL and HELLCATS, The CW stations in the majority of the top markets ranked either first or second on Wednesday night. Among women 18-34, The CW was first or second in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, Boston, Atlanta, Washington DC, Houston, Phoenix, Seattle, Minneapolis, Miami, Cleveland, Orlando, Sacramento, Portland and Baltimore.
