El productor ejecutivo Andrew Kreisberg comentó al respecto: “Él tiene un nombre. Tiene nombre y apellido. Puede incluso que tenga un nombre de pila; no estoy seguro. Pero definitivamente descubriremos quién es más pronto que tarde. Es una gran sorpresa, y estoy muy orgulloso de ello, y estamos emocionados porque la gente lo vea. El trío de productores también declararon que quien no se spresurará para ponerse el traje de superheroína o mejor dicho las medias de rejilla será Dinah Lance aka Black Canary, interpretada por Katie Cassidy. Será interesante el ver si está al tanto del implícito romance entre Oliver y Huntress o si está incluso al tanto de que Oliver es Green Arrow.

La serie de Arrow empezó el día de ayer grabando escenas de un robo en un edificio y antigo banco en 330 West Pender Street que se transformó en el Starling Trust Bank. Depués, la Policía de Vancouver Police cerró los dos lados de la zona de delante del edificio para que Arrow pudiera grabar las escenas de los oficiales de policía llegando al robo y a Roger Cross (Continuum) como un oficial de policía que llevaba un megáfono y le decía a los que estaban en el interior del bando que salieran con las manos en alto. Los rehenes salían llevando puestas máscaras. ¿Están los ladrones entres los rehenes? La policía luego irrumpía en el edificio. Arrow terminó la escena de la llegada de la policía alrededor de las 2 p.m., las calles se re.abrieron y la producción se movió al interior del edificio para rodar el propio robo.

- Kirby Morrow aparecerá en "Arrow" (greenarrowtv):

El actor Kirby Morrow, conocido por sus papeles en Fringe y Stargate: Atlantis, o sus trabajos de voz como Cíclope/Scott Summers en X-Men: Evolution y Goku en el doblaje canadiense de Dragon Ball Z, aparecerá en el episodio 4º de la serie, titulado “An Innocent Man.”

El nombre de sus personaje es “Matt Istook,” pero no se tienen más detalles por el momento. Si no hay cambios de calendario, el episodio 4º de Arrow debería emitirse el próximo 31 de Octubre.

Según ha informado "FormulaTV", el canal temático Calle 13 ha presentado este miércoles su parrilla de otoño.

Entre los estrenos de la cadena, destacan '666 Park Avenue' y 'Arrow' , la última apuesta de la cadena CW que verá la luz el próximo 10 de octubre.

La adaptación televisiva de los cómics Green Arrow llegará a Calle 13 durante el mes de noviembre. 'Arrow' fue una de las revelaciones de los pasados L.A. Screenings y logró también una muy buena acogida en el último Comic Con.

LA TV Insider Examiner ha sabido en exclusiva que "Arrow" traerá al personaje de Frank Bertinelli y que dicho papel será interpretado por el actor Jeffrey Nordling.

Frank es el “padre de Helena Bertinelli (aka the Huntress) [y] un jefe del crimen de Starling City que cruzará du camino con la familia Queen family en un próximo episodio de Arrow.”

Nordling aparecerá en el séptimo episodio de la primera temporada de la serie titulado "Muse on Fire", que también escribe Geoff Johns junto a Guggenheim y Kreisberg y que marcará la llegada de "The Huntress" a la serie.

La estrella de Dollhouse y Battlestar Galactica Tahmoh Penikett aparecerá como estrella invitada en Arrow.

La página de facebook de Penikett dio la noticia y ahora se ha sabido que Penikett interpretará a Tom Salvati, mano derecha del jefe de la mafia de Jeffrey Nordling Frank Bertinelli. Bertinelli es, por supuesto, el padre de Helena Bertinelli, que también resulta ser la luchadora contra el crimen conocida como The Huntress. The Paley Center for Media recently hosted their Fall 2012 TV Preview Parties, and during that time, they had a special Q&A session with Arrow series lead Stephen Amell and executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg. You can see photos from the event here.

Before the Q&A, though, GATV’s Craig Byrne was able to talk with the talent as they came in… and during that time, again, we were able to talk with Stephen about how things are going with the show. For starters, since we last spoke, a few very sexy females, including the Huntress (Jessica de Guow), have been announced as appearing on the show. How will Laurel react to these characters, considering that Katie Cassidy’s character is the assumed female love interest on the show?

“I think that she’ll be okay with it,” Stephen tells us. “We have our moments coming up in the show… there’s history between them, but right now, they both know that nothing can happen, the way that things are presently constituted. That’s not to say that [it won't happen] down the road, but the way that their relationship is set up right now, nothing can happen.”

The other major thing that has changed since we last spoke with Stephen is that more episodes have been filmed. Has anything changed by the time we talked? “I feel like Episode 5, Episode 6, there’s a little bit of a reset,” he teases. “It’s ramp, ramp, ramp, ramp, ramp, and then 5 and 6 just feels like – it certainly doesn’t pull back, it’s not less action packed; but what you’re seeing, is you’re seeing a lot of the other cast members. They’re becoming more involved, as they push closer to me. I remain the straw that stirs the drink, but as they get a little bit closer, they become more involved, which is really fun for me, because our cast is super talented.”

Arrow se estrena en apenas dos semanas – el miércoles, 10 de Octubre en la CW – pero más allá de eso, los fans tienen mucho por lo que esperar, ya que los personajes del universo de DC Comics están yendo y viniendo tan pronto como en el segundo episodio, que mostrará a China White de Green Arrow: Year One. En las siguientes semanas estaremos viendo personajes como Deadshot e incluso un “hombre bien vestido” interpretado por John Barrowman de Torchwood.

Una de las adiciones más excitantes de la serie llega en el episodio siete, que suena como si fuera esencialmente el principio de una historia de dos partes. “Muse of Fire” está co-escrito por Geoff Johns de DC Comics con los productores ejecutivos de la serie, Marc Guggenheim y Andrew Kreisberg, e introduce a Helena Bertinelli, la vigilante conocida como the Huntress, al mito de Arrow.

The Huntress ha aparecido anteriormente en series de televisión, en el especial Legends Of The Superheroes y también en la serie de corta duración de la WB Birds Of Prey. Helena es lo contrario. La dualidad del papel, es todo un reto. Tengo que ser capaz de patear traseros y todo eso, y soy bastante femenina en mi vida diaria normal… la lucha y todo eso es nuevo e interesante para mí, pero es algo bueno. Estoy disfrutándolo realmente. He sido arrojada a ello, así es que debo también saltar en ello, ¿verdad?” dice. Thea Queen is a new character introduced into the Green Arrow mythos for the CW’s new series Arrow; a younger sister who will further ground Oliver Queen to his family and illustrate how much has really changed in Oliver’s years away on the island.

When Oliver last saw his little sister, she was but a child, and now she is 18 and has gone through her own changes while her big brother was gone. We spoke with Willa Holland, the actress that plays her, when we visited the Vancouver sets of Arrow last week.

“What I’ve kind of taken from that is that she was left alone in this obviously very massive set, house, mansion, whatever you want to call it,” she laughs when asked what Thea was up to in the intervening years. “But yes, she was left alone for five years, and probably walking around continuously running into memories and not being able to get away from it. It’s not like she went away to boarding school or anything like that. She was stuck at home, and watching her mother go through all the stages of grief, and then remarrying somebody that was her father’s best friend, and has been a very prominent figure in her life already. It must be a kind of huge twist and turn for her, everything that’s gone on, and then her brother comes back.”

Her brother won’t be happy with what she’s done with herself — Thea, like her older brother was at one time, has spent some time behaving badly, partying and even using drugs. “It seems like her outlet in those five years was kind of trying to put herself into Oliver’s shoes, and in trying to have fun and live life the way that he used to,” Willa explains. “He seemed to have the greatest life at the time, so she wanted to emulate that. When he came back, it didn’t seem so nice to him anymore, and he didn’t kinda like the way that she’s portraying his life, so it’s kind of like, how do you deal with that, when your brother comes back and he doesn’t really accept you for who you are, and no one really does, and all you want to do is have things be back to the way they were, but it’s not going to be like that anymore?” Thea and her mother alike will both struggle with Oliver not letting either of them in, which will just fuel her loneliness and desire for an outlet. It may also lead to some resentment.

However, there might be light at the end of that tunnel. Oliver’s nickname for Thea in the series pilot is “Speedy,” and fans of DC Comics know that “Speedy” also happens to be the name of Green Arrow’s sidekick. Might Thea be picking up a bow and arrow? “I have no idea what’s going to happen with that,” she says, “but they have been calling me Speedy as my little nickname. So, fingers crossed and knock on some wood that I’m gonna be slinging an arrow soon. [laughs]” Willa assures us that when the time comes — which is “obviously not happening within the next week or two” — she will work hard to be in good shape for the role.

“I think it would be an awesome sense of release for her, for all of her anger and resentment against her family. It would be a nice outlet, to say the least, running around and kicking some ass,” she says.

We asked Willa if she has worked with John Barrowman yet, to try to get any and all intel about his “Well-Dressed Man” that we could get. She reveals that they haven’t had a scene with dialogue yet, though technically they do have a scene together. “Yesterday was actually the first day that I’ve been on set with him,” Willa reveals. “We had a scene where I am in the same scene, technically, but I walk out before he walks in. I was there on set, sitting in the chairs next to him while they’re changing around the set, but yeah. I didn’t have any interaction with him yet. But I cannot wait. I am so excited for the moment that I do. I love that man already,” she says.

“It’s kind of like real life. You have no idea what’s going to happen in the next moment,” Willa says, comparing it to real life when we never know ourselves what is coming next. What she does know is that Thea is a strong character that has just been misled in recent times, without anyone to look up to. Hopefully the future for Thea Queen is a bright one and that her resentment of her brother’s return and disapproval, plus her rebellious stage, will make a speedy recovery.

In addition to giving Oliver Queen a sister, another derivation from previously known continuity from Green Arrow comics in the new CW TV series Arrow is that the character’s mother is very much alive and played by the fantastic Susanna Thompson of Once and Again, Kings and Star Trek fame.

Moira Queen is not your typical distressed mother; there are some layers to her, and once you get into the show you’ll see why keeping one of Oliver Queen’s parents alive was a very good idea. For Thompson, taking on a comic book inspired project was something new. “It’s a world that I’m not familiar with, in terms of the comic book world; but it’s an exciting world to discover and to research,” Thompson admits. “On the surface, I could look at it as a very big, dramatized, melodramatic world, but really, we’re here to tell a story and make it as honest and authentic as possible in human terms. [Director] David Nutter was very clear and I loved that. You’ve got a grieving mother on one hand who is meeting her son after five years, after thinking he was dead, and then another part of her, that is the survivor, that needs to make sure her whole family survives, that needs to find out more. It’s an interesting line to walk,” she continues.

This desire to protect her family is something that becomes very clear as early as the series premiere. “She will do just about anything to keep her family safe,” Susanna says. “There’s more than meets the eye by the end of the pilot, and it just keeps growing.”

There is a lot of history with Robert and Moira Queen that is left to explore in the series; might that mean we’ll get to see their relationship in flashbacks? Susanna says that they haven’t so far, but “it would be interesting.” “I keep thinking, are they going to play that with the cast and the rest of the family, but so far it’s really been Oliver’s journey. Andrew [Kreisberg] has really talked very much about the island life, the Arrow life and the family life. He’s kept them separated,” she says.

One part of the Queens’ past might be the “Well-Dressed Man,” played by John Barrowman. The casting of Barrowman excited one particular member of Susanna Thompson’s family for sure. “My niece, who is in her first year at UCSD went to Comic-Con, and she’s always going to Comic-Con, and the year I was there with Kings, she didn’t come to see our forum; she was there for Twilight or something,” Thompson recalls. “This year, I wasn’t able to go because we had started filming, so I texted her and asked if she had seen the show, and she said, ‘yes, amazing,’ and that’s all I heard from her. Then I did my first episode with John, and I get a text saying, ‘Oh my God, I know this might be completely inappropriate, but I heard you’re working with John Barrowman, and can you please get me an autograph?!’ That’s all that’s important to her,” Susanna laughs.

“He’s very sweet,” Thompson adds about Barrowman, noting that the show’s producers all came on set with their children, all lined up to meet him with as much enthusiasm as her niece surely would have in the same situation.

Between interacting with well dressed men, getting remarried to Strictly Come Dancing superstars (Colin Salmon plays Moira’s new husband “Walter Steele”), and dealing with two children in ways you’ll have to see to believe, Moira Queen is going to be one of Arrow’s biggest surprises.

We’ve saved the series lead to be one of the last to post – that would be Stephen Amell, the man who trained extensively for the role of Oliver Queen, to give us a [green] “Arrow” who is in peak physical shape. Amell, a veteran of such shows as Hung, The Vampire Diaries, and Private Practice, is still not an extremely well known name, and had even been able to wander this year’s Comic-Con undetected.

While previous versions of the Green Arrow story in the comics have overlooked Oliver’s family, they are a major factor in Arrow, which provides a tie between the Oliver Queen of now and his past life before he was on an island for five years.

“The biggest problem for Oliver so far hasn’t been any bad guys necessarily; it’s been his relationship with Thea and Moira, and Laurel to a lesser extent, but specifically his immediate family,” Stephen says, adding that we’ll see trouble with his sister off the bat and there will be more discussion immediately after the pilot. The problem will continue through at least the eighth episode, and by that point, Amell says “something is going to have to change,” whether it’s bringing them closer or giving up what he is doing as the Arrow. “The way things are going right now, it’s deteriorating the relationships in his family,” he says.

Stephen says he’s “not supposed to say” which aspect of Oliver Queen he enjoys playing better. “It’s everyone’s dream to put on a suit, whether you’re a good guy or a bad guy, but I love the interpersonal stuff so much because there’s always so much underneath what’s happening. There’s so many lines that can be played with two meanings, and aside from working on Hung, this is my first experience – and that was, by definition, more peripheral than this is – that was my first experience where, like I have a scene with Paul Blackthorne in episode 7 and I have a line to him where I go ‘ok, I can say it to him this way because of something that happened to him in episode 2. Then we had this experience in 4, then we had this experience in 6 and because of all of that, that completely colors the scene for me.’ So having all this information at my disposal makes these interpersonal scenes so rich and that’s really exciting,” he says. Oliver’s actions might not always be as dark as one would expect from the trailers, either. “I’ve seen the word ‘brooding’ a lot and I’ve sort of seen ‘no smiles’ and this, that and the other thing. There’s a light moment right off the top of episode 2 and there’s some humor along the way. I was trying to put humor in wherever I could,” Stephen says.

“I saw Greg Berlanti at the Paley Festival and he said to me ‘hey, anytime you’re funny, it always stays in the episode.’ Any time that there’s any sort of levity brought into these scenes because we’re dealing with serious subject matter, he goes ‘we always keep that. Keep doing that.’ There was a scene between David Ramsey and I in episode 5 that could have been heavy. At no point in the script in the subtext or in the stage direction was it written ‘this scene plays light and easy,’ but it [worked],” Stephen says.

It sounds as though Oliver Queen’s secret might also lead to some fun scenes. “There’s a scene I’m really proud of in episode 2 where he tries to throw them off the scent a little bit and I don’t think it works as well as he wants it to,” Stephen admits.

Fans are already becoming excited by two guest actors who will be coming in a few weeks after the pilot. Jessica de Gouw plays Helena Bertinelli, the Huntress, and Stephen says they have “great chemistry.”

“Jessica is an Aussie, I have never met an Australian person that I didn’t get along with really well immediately,” Stephen says. “She’s really wonderful and the chemistry so far has been great because we get on in real life. I do keep joking on Twitter, ‘just wrapped episode 7, my favorite since episode 6′ but I have really, really loved this episode. The dynamic that she brings into the show, specifically the way that we open the show, there’s a sequence that opens it and the fight that closes it and so much discovery in the middle of it, it really builds up,” he says, pointing out the interesting fact that Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg describes “Muse Of Fire,” the episode that wrapped when we were on set, as part one of a two parter.

The other guest star, that we all had to ask everyone about, is Torchwood’s John Barrowman, who plays a “well dressed man.” Could we get any intel out of Stephen? “He’s well-dressed,” Stephen says. “He’s a very well-spoken, well-respected businessman in Starling City.”

“I know I tweeted a couple of weeks ago that I was reading a script that was episode 7 and I read a scene and I audibly gasped and I went ‘[gasp] that’s really cool!’. It’s from the beginning of episode 7, and it’s a scene with John. He’s a really fun guy to work with. He obviously is very comfortable and he made the crew and even me, when it was my coverage, crack up during a rehearsal and it took a while to get it back for the actual takes,” Stephen reveals.

So what should people expect from Arrow when it premieres on The CW October 10? Stephen says you might be surprised. “If you come into the series with a certain expectation based on what you expect from this network, just in terms of tone and just in terms of subject matter and the way that we deal with it, I think you’ll be very surprised. Not to say that it’s better or that it’s worse. But we’re, I think, using interesting tactics and I think that whether you’re a television viewer that’s interested in interpersonal relationships or really kick-ass action, you’re gonna get what you’re looking for. The places that we’re trying to take this and the locations that we’re using and the unflinching nature of the storytelling technique is gonna surprise people,” he says.

Laurel has an interesting back story with Oliver in that the two of them, as well as their friend Tommy Merlyn, grew up together. Laurel and Oliver were also romantically involved, and then Oliver cheated on her… with her sister. And if you think that’s the only drama involved in that situation, just wait until you see the series premiere.

Fans of the comics would know Laurel as “Dinah Laurel Lance,” who, at least in printed form, became the Black Canary, crimefighting partner and eventual better half of Oliver Queen. This was not something Katie looked at when auditioning for the role.

“When I originally had auditioned for this part, I basically came up with a back story that was legitimate to the material that I was given—the pilot,” Katie recalls. “Creating back story to make this person as authentic as possible, I did a little bit of research, but I also, at that point, didn’t consider the Black Canary because I didn’t know. When – if [she becomes Black Canary] is always still a question. You never know with these writers; they could do anything. I try not to think about that at this point because I think sometimes I can get in my own way if I over-think it. I think as far as the Black Canary goes, it will probably happen very organically. I know that Laurel is very strong, very tough. She comes from a middle class family; her father’s a cop; she knows how to fight. It will be something that happens organically, and it’s probably going to be pretty cool,” she says.

Laurel’s father is Detective Quentin Lance, played by the fantastic Paul Blackthorne. “The two of them have become very close because obviously of her sister passing and her mother and his wife not really being in the picture,” Katie explains. “It’s sort of only really been Laurel and her father, so the two of them have a really strong bond and are very close, and you’ll get to see Oliver having a huge impact on that. You’ll see Laurel sort of having an internal struggle as well because she’s caught between the two of them, and her father doesn’t necessarily agree with all of her choices. It becomes pretty difficult at times for the two of them, and they take some shots at each other. They’re pretty tough on each other, but she stands up to him, and Paul Blackthorne is not easy to stand up to! So that has been a little nerve-wracking at times, but it’s fun; it’s certainly fun,” she says.

Speaking of Oliver, what kind of a relationship will Laurel have with Oliver compared to the type of dynamic she will have with the Arrow? “It’s a fun, really interesting dynamic between Laurel and Oliver, and Laurel and the Arrow. She’s curious, you know? Everything she believes in, the Arrow contradicts. But at the same time, he’s trying to do the same thing she is, just in a different way. So I think she sees the parallel. I think she is smart; I think she’s very curious as to who it is, why, what. I think she starts questioning herself and her own morals and values. She’s become an attorney — she stands for the law — and yet, this person is breaking the law and yet making sure justice is served in a different way. She’s sort of reevaluating,” she says.

“At times they are targeting the same people, but you’ll definitely get to see them sort of get an opportunity to maybe work together on something. And at some point Laurel ends up actually—her being an attorney is helpful for Oliver. He gets to use it towards his benefit,” she tells us.

If the Black Canary isn’t coming too soon, that means that Oliver will have a costumed female to interact with well before him in the Huntress, a.k.a. Helena Bertinelli, who first shows up in the series’ seventh episode. What is the dynamic like between Helena and Laurel? “At this point they have not met, but that’s not to say that they won’t meet soon,” Cassidy says. “It’s going to be one of those situations, I have to say, that I don’t exactly know until I show up in that particular scene. I have a feeling there will probably be a lot that goes on internally with Laurel; but as far as how much she’s going to show, she doesn’t like to show all her cards,” she speculates.

Greg Berlanti is a well-known writer-producer whose previous works often seemed to revolve around the premise of family — whether it’s a family recently suffering a loss and moving to a new place (Everwood), a wealthy family (Dirty Sexy Money), a family with superpowers (No Ordinary Family), a family where someone might someday become President (Jack & Bobby), a family with Sally Field at the heart (Brothers and Sisters), or the family created from a group of friends who play baseball games together (The Broken Hearts Club).

With Arrow, Berlanti is exploring Oliver Queen’s family — a family which includes a mother, a father, a stepfather, and even a sister. In the comics, Oliver Queen’s family seemed to be made up of characters he’d meet later, such as Roy Harper and Dinah Laurel Lance, the Black Canary. He’s also fathered some children along the way, but we won’t complicate this article with that.

We spoke with Mr. Berlanti a few weeks ago at the Paley Center’s Fall TV Preview Parties, which included a special Q&A session for Arrow.

“I think an important element of the show is the family drama. In part, because it makes the show more affordable, but really, truthfully, because I think people watch these shows for the characters and the dynamics more than just the action,” Berlanti says about the decision to flesh out Oliver Queen’s world a little bit.

“We chose, for instance, not to kill one of his parents. In the comic book, he loses his family; he’s an orphan much the way like Bruce Wayne. We wanted one of the parents alive, but we didn’t necessarily want her to be all good. There’s a lot of mystery about who his parents are, and what his family may or may not be involved in,” he says.

Laurel Lance also has a family, with her father, Detective Quentin Lance, a very important part of Arrow and a thorn in The Arrow’s side. “For me, when we were working on that character… when I was a kid, I loved The Hulk on TV. There was Mr. McGee, who was always chasing the Hulk. That was just an element – I loved that. Their dynamic. Here’s a guy who’s by the book, and in a way, him and Oliver are trying to do the same thing. And yet, they’re on different sides of the law. That, I think, provides lots of drama,” he says.

Arrow was exciting for Greg Berlanti and fellow executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg as a TV show partly because the origin story of what Oliver did on the island is one that can be told over many years. “If we did it as a film, you really couldn’t tell that,” he says. “You’d have ten minutes of story time. You’d be like ‘he’s on the island. Montage!’ Here, as a show, we get to go back there every week, and we go deeper and deeper into that element,” he says.
