- Allison Paige será 'Trajectory', la primera velocista femenina de "The Flash":
CZrezqjWYAAyhhH.jpg

This Tuesday on The Flash (The CW, 8/7c), Barry, Cisco and Harry — upon arriving on Earth-Two to rescue Jesse Wells from the ominous Zoom — get a chilly reception from that world’s version of Caitlin Snow, who is known as the villain Killer Frost.

Sure, she’s got Ronnie at her side again (here as the baddie Deathstorm), but the love of a not-so-good man apparently could not keep the scientist from heading down a dark, cold path. Here, Danielle Panabaker previews her walk on the wild side, Killer Frost’s beef with Barry and the breachers, and what nice Caitlin is up to back home during the two-part trip to Earth-Two.

TVLINE | Under what circumstances do Barry & Co. first encounter Killer Frost?
They lock eyes on each other in an unexpected situation. When Barry Allen first comes across Killer Frost, I don’t think he’s expecting to see what Earth-Two’s Caitlin Snow looks like.

TVLINE | Who has the strongest reaction to seeing her? I imagine Cisco has something to say.
As always! [Laughs] Barry and Cisco are both pretty shocked.

TVLINE | Is Caitlin’s relationship with Ronnie pretty much the same over there? Or is it a bit more lusty, more bad girl/bad boy…?
It’s a little bit more “Bonnie and Clyde.” There’s the same amount of passion, and they do love each other the same as on Earth-One. They’re just evil! They just like to hurt people and steal from them.

TVLINE | Aside from the new look and different temperament, how would you compare Earth-Two’s Caitlin with the one we know?
It’s more a contrast than a comparison. I don’t know that they share that much in common other than they love a guy named Ronnie. She also has some pretty great quips throughout the episode. She is smart and she is pretty loyal… but that’s probably all they do have in common!

TVLINE | So, what kind of bee got in her bonnet over on Earth-Two that triggered her origin story? She’s still got Ronnie, so she should be happy as a clam, right?
That’s actually not something that we really explored in this first exposure to Killer Frost. It’s The Flash, so we’re telling his story and witnessing his general his shock at seeing Killer Frost, and how she looks not like the Caitlin on his Earth.

TVLINE | Even so, is her origin story The Flashsomething the show’s writers have confided in you on the side?
We’ve talked extensively about Earth-Two’s Killer Frost. I think that after the episode, after you see her relationships with people like Zoom, you’ll begin to understand her a little bit more.

TVLINE | What sort of threat does she pose to our Earth-One friends?
[Laughs] She poses a very serious one! She’s not happy to see them, so she sort of goes on a hunt. She uses her powers to try to attack them.

TVLINE | What kind of skills does she have?
A lot of what we see in this week’s episode is her use of icicles, how she can shoot them from her hand. She has control over ice and in [next week’s episode] we see her explore her powers a bit more.

TVLINE | What was it about her look, her costume, that most got you into character as you started playing this variation on Caitlin?
Gosh, it’s a lot of different things. I mean, the wig is pretty transformative. The make-up is so different — the dark lip, the blue, the really pale face. But I think it’s the contacts that take it to another level.

TVLINE | Do you have a favorite scene?
Theres a scene in a lounge that I think is pretty cool….

TVLINE | Among Earth-Two’s assorted changes and flourishes, what entertained you as an actress just looking around the set?
I like that it’s a bit retro. Theres a classic element to it that just looks cool. I feel very lucky that everyone on our show is so talented that we were able to pull off so many different looks. Earth-Two is so completely different than Earth-One, so I’m really excited to see it all come together.

TVLINE | Meanwhile back on Earth-One, Jay is going to try fill The Flash’s shoes. How does that go for him? How does he possibly pull that off?
It’s a challenge, for sure. Team Flash is so used to working with Barry and his set of skills, and Jay obviously has his own knowledge and his own experience from Earth-Two, but it’s a little different since he doesn’t have the speed.

TVLINE | Do you think that what Caitlin is feeling for Jay is real? He’s not just a rebound guy?
I do think it’s real — and I think it surprised her, I don’t think she was expecting it or looking for it, and there’s something sweet about how slow their relationship has been to progress. It’s fairly innocent, but I do think she cares for him.

Danielle Panabaker adelanta el helado debut de 'Killer Frost'
Por Natalie Abrams 08 feb 2016

When Team Flash heads to Earth-2 during Tuesday’s episode of The Flash, they’ll be shocked to discover that more than a few faces are very different on the other side.

In a bid to save Earth-2 Wells’ (Tom Cavanagh) daughter, “Barry, Cisco and Harry go over to Earth-2 with a definitive plan that goes awry,” executive producer Todd Helbing teases. “They are left having to improvise and find themselves in a completely different scenario than they anticipated, and have to race for their lives to get back.”

Case in point: Barry (Grant Gustin) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) will quickly come up against Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) and Deathstorm (Robbie Amell), who are nothing like their Earth-1 doppelgängers. “She’s completely different,” Panabaker says. “Caitlin comes from a really good, well-intentioned place, and Killer Frost does not. She just wants to hurt people and steal from them.”

The only silver lining is that the episode reunites a version of Caitlin Snow with Ronnie Raymond, who perished during the singularity last season. “It’s very Bonnie and Clyde,” Panabaker says of their dynamic. “There’s a lot of passion between those two characters. It’s different than the relationship between Earth-1 Caitlin and Ronnie in that it’s very passionate, very hot and heavy. It’s fun.”

Though getting into the mindset of Killer Frost wasn’t hard once she was in costume — “There were some people on set [who didn’t recognize me],” Panabaker says — the actress took a cue from some familiar villains. “I watched some old Batman movies and really looked at all those femme fatales, Uma Thurman and Michelle Pfieffer, and went to them for inspiration,” she says. “It was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it.”

Unfortunately, viewers won’t find out how this Snow turned into the ice queen we see on Earth-2. “They’re really focused on getting Wells’ daughter back and closing the breach, so there is no way for Zoom to continue to terrorize them,” notes Panabaker, who doesn’t rule out the possibility of the two Caitlins meeting some day. “That would be so fun to get to play them opposite each other,” she says. “I don’t think Killer Frost would be pleased to see what a goody-goody Caitlin can be.”

As to whether Earth-1’s Caitlin Snow could face the same icy fate, Helbing says it’s not likely — at least, not yet. “I would say right now, Caitlin is not affected, so for that to happen, there’s going to have to be some scenario that would trigger that,” he says. “But for right now, it’s not a possibility.”

Meanwhile, back on Earth-1, the rest of Team Flash is faced with a new meta-human terrorizing town with no Flash to stop him. “It’s up to Caitlin and Jay, and they enlist the help of Joe, to stop Geomancer,” Panabaker teases. “Team Flash is a really good team, and it’s tough when some of the members are gone.”

Jay (Teddy Sears) will really need to step up in Barry’s absence, leading Caitlin to feel even more desperate to save his life. “She’s pretty determined,” Panabaker says. “As we’ve seen in the past, she can be pretty focused when she has a reason to be. This is also her specialty. This is totally in her wheelhouse of working with science to save people. That’s her passion. It’s great to see her focus on that, even though the circumstances are a little bit sad.”

With that in mind, the recent reveal that Jay Garrick’s Earth-1 doppelgänger is Hunter Zolomon — whose alter-ego in the comics is Zoom — has sent fans down the theorizing rabbit hole. “I think there is a little bit of a red flag, but Jay has explained that Hunter Zolomon was adopted, that’s why he has that name,” Panabaker hedges. “It’s unfortunate for Caitlin that she can’t rely on this Earth-1 doppelgänger to save Jay, but when we do find out more about Zoom, I promise it’s worth the wait.”

“We do things on purpose on the show,” Helbing says of the Hunter Zolomon nod, noting that we will see Hunter again in coming episodes. “As you know, sometimes we follow the way things are in the comics, and sometimes we don’t.”

Preparáos para el cantante Jose de Tierra 2 y la Asesina Caitlin
Por Eric Goldman 09 Feb, 2016

This week’s episode of The Flash is one fans have been waiting for all season, as the title – “Welcome to Earth-2” – lets you know.

IGN attended a press screening of the episode, part one of a two-parter, this week and it’s safe to say this is going to be an episode viewers will have a ton to talk about after. Jammed with Easter eggs, the episode makes full use of the different universe to introduce some notably altered incarnations of familiar characters and concepts from The Flash and the larger universe of DC shows it is a part of.

Describing the episode, Flash executive producer Todd Helbing -- part of a writing duo with his brother, Aaron (the two wrote for Spartacus and Black Sails prior to The Flash) -- said, “Barry, Cisco, and Harry go over to Earth-2 with a definitive plan that goes awry and they are left having to improvise. They find themselves in a completely different scenario than they anticipated - and have a race for their life to get back.”

That description is certainly accurate, but purposely leaving out plenty of fun and exciting details viewers will discover watching the episode Tuesday night - though there are some details on the Earth-2 versions of The Flash characters that have been revealed beforehand… including Joe West’s (Jesse L. Martin) role as a singer! (see the slide show above)

The Flash has several cast members with a musical background, and Todd remarked, “Our cast, they’re all extremely talented. Every time you see them do stuff like this, it just blows our mind. Jesse, it just felt the most organic, with the doppelganger aspect… It just felt the best way to introduce that ability that he has.”

Another big element of “Welcome to Earth 2” that has been revealed is that it will introduce Killer Frost and Deathstorm, the very different, very evil incarnations of Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell).

Knowing it was her alter ego in the comics, fans have been excited to see Killer Frost since The Flash began – a sentiment shared by Danielle Panabaker (check out our new video interview with her above).

When it came to deciding now was the right time to bring in Killer Frost, Todd noted, “With Danielle and Killer Frost, we teased that last year. This is very similar to getting Jesse to sing. It felt the most appropriate and the most organic to go over there and meet Killer Frost and Deathstorm and see a different aspect of their personalities that go along with these superpowers. Getting anybody to play a doppelganger that is evil is in some ways the most fun you can have.”

The brothers were both really excited for fans to see the Earth-2 storyline, with Aaron saying, “When you can be on a show when anything is possible, it’s just so freeing. It’s the best feeling in the world.”

Added Todd, “Seeing these different realities, some of these images we’re pulling straight from the pages of the comic books. So it’s an amazing experience and a lot of fun. “

El sorprendente viaje a Tierra-2 llega 'directo de los cómics'

Tonight's episode of "The Flash" introduces Killer Frost and Deathstorm, the Earth-2 versions of Caitlin Snow and Ronnie Raymond

Since the second season premiere of "The Flash," fans of The CW's hit superhero show have been treated to glimpses of Earth-2, the alternate Earth home to the villainous speedster Zoom and plenty of metahumans. A number of these metahumans have come to Earth-1's Central City looking to kill The Flash and, stranger still, many of them have been evil doppelgangers of familiar Earth-1 faces like Doctor Light/Linda Park.

As the Flash, Barry Allen has faced metahumans with powers ranging from frightening to bizarre, but can he handle meeting his doppelganger and seeing the life his other self has? "Welcome to Earth-2," tonight's all-new episode of "The Flash," will force Barry to learn the answer as he takes Harrison Wells and Cisco Ramon to Earth-2 to rescue Wells' daughter Jesse from Zoom's pointy clutches.

The journey is fraught with peril as Barry not only stumbles into the likes of Killer Frost and Deathstorm -- evil Earth-2 versions of Flash allies Caitlin Snow and Ronnie Raymond -- but also encounters a slight hiccup. Executive Producers Todd & Aaron Helbing spoke with a small group of journalists including CBR News in advance of tonight's episode, which sees members of Team Flash visit Earth-2 for the first time.

"Barry, Cisco and Wells go over to Earth-2 with a definitive plan that goes awry, and they are left having to improvise and find themselves in a completely different scenario than they anticipated," Todd Helbing explained. "They have a race for their lives to get back."

As revealed in photos from the episode, two factors that could cause the plan to go sideways are named Killer Frost and Deathstorm. Todd Helbing mentioned that Killer Frost was teased in the Season One finale, and this Earth-2 vacation was when putting Danielle Panabaker in the role of the ice cold rogue made sense. "It felt the most appropriate and organic to go over there and meet Killer Frost and Deathstorm and get to see a completely different aspect of their personalities that go along with their superpowers. Getting anybody to play a doppelganger that's evil is in, some ways, the most fun you can have," he said.

Though viewers will see Killer Frost in Earth-2, it doesn't rule out seeing Earth-1 Caitlin Snow transform in the future. Aaron Helbing said anything is possible with Todd Helbing adding, "Right now, Caitlin is not affected so for that to happen, there's going to have to be some scenario that would trigger that. Right now, it's not a possibility."

"Welcome to Earth-2" isn't all about villainous doppelgangers. Barry encounters himself, Iris and Joe. The Barry of Earth-2 has a distinct look with glasses and a bow tie fans of the DC Comics source material will be quick to recognize. Todd Helbing said it was fun finding the right tone for the alternate earth Barry. "Grant [Gustin] is just one of those actors who can do anything. His comedic timing is amazing, his physical presence and humor is amazing," said Todd Helbing. "Originally, we felt like he should have this Jimmy Stewart quality, but we really just gave Grant a few ideas and he took them upon himself and created this amazing guy."

Speaking of amazing, Earth-2 Joe West is a crooner. Jesse L. Martin is a talented singer, and they jumped on the chance to showcase his skills. "Our cast, they're all extremely talented. Every time we see them do stuff like this, it just blows our minds," said Todd Helbing. "I think [with] Jesse -- it just felt organic. You get to play with the doppelganger aspect [and] that just felt like the best way to introduce that ability he has."

When it comes to Iris, photos hint Earth-2 Barry and Iris have a different relationship than their Earth-1 counterparts. "I think the fans are going to crazy over it," said Todd Helbing.

The trip to Earth-2 not only paves the way for doppelganger hijinks -- it also opens up the possibilities for Easter eggs. The episode is overflowing with them, but the Helbings said the final product doesn't include everything the show's writers brainstormed. "We had a giant board of probably 50 ideas that we had to whittle down to the bare bones," said Aaron Hebling. They writers tried to balance the story's direction and their desire to insert Easter eggs, but Todd Helbing said it was a challenge. "The ideas you have up on the board are endless, so it's really hard to narrow it down. You just try to pick and choose what you think is the best.

"It's cool seeing these different realities," Todd Helbing continued. "Some of these images we're pulling straight from the pages of the comic books. It's an amazing experience and a lot of fun."

"Welcome to Earth-2," the 13th episode of "The Flash" Season Two, airs Tuesday, February 9 at 8:00pm ET/PT on The CW.

The wait is over. Danielle Panabaker is stepping into the icy shoes of Killer Frost in Tuesday's "The Flash," where she'll team up with Robbie Amell’s Deathstorm to cause trouble.

Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) are heading through an open breach that serves as a portal to another version of Earth in the new episode, and on Earth 2, the show's heroes will encounter deadly versions of Caitlin Snow and (the late) Ronnie Raymond.

"They're Earth 2's Bonnie and Clyde," Danielle told Access Hollywood of Killer Frost and Deathstorm. "They like to terrorize people as much as they can and they have a passion [for it]. One of Killer Frost's powers is that she kisses men when she kills them. Her lips freeze them and the only man for her is Deathstorm because he's on fire, so it's a relationship that was meant to be."

Although Barry Allen is friends with Caitlin on his Earth, on Earth 2, he'll need to watch his back.

"I think Earth 2 is a little bit different from Earth 1 in that you know, Killer Frost is a metahuman and she's a little bit more used to seeing them. I think she is excited to see a different Flash and can't wait to take him on -- and hopefully kill him. I think that's her passion," Danielle said, when Access asked her to preview Killer Frost's reaction to seeing Earth 1's The Flash.

Another reason for Barry to watch his back? Killer Frost has a connection to Barry's Season 2 nemesis – the villain Zoom.

"They do have a relationship," Danielle said. "What it is, you'll have to tune in to see."

Finally getting to play Killer Frost (beyond the quick glimpse fans got of her as the character in the Season 1 finale) meant Danielle got to do more action sequences for this week's episode and she had a blast shooting them.

"That's what's exciting for me is the opportunity to get to do a little bit more of that. Caitlin Snow tends to generally be in the safety of S.T.A.R. Labs using the computers and her knowledge as a weapon, more so than Killer Frost, who is out there, which is great. That's something that I can't wait to do more of," she said.

Tuesday's episode will take place in two different places – Earth 2, where Barry and Cisco are teaming up with Harrison Wells to try and save his daughter, Jessie, from Zoom, and on Earth 1, where Caitlin Snow and Jay Garrick will be working together to take down a dangerous metahuman. But, Caitlin is also focused on trying to figure out what's wrong with Jay.

"Ever since we've come back from our holiday break, you see Caitlin doing her own sort of sleuthing and trying to figure out what's going on with Jay and getting more information about what is making him sick and also, you know, this is her passion in life," Danielle said. "She's trying to figure out a way to fix him and a way to make him better. So, it's great to see her focus on this and in her specialty as well, working on science and biology and that sort of thing."

The Earth 1 drama will also give fans more Caitlin and Jay scenes, two characters who are in the early stages of their "The Flash" romance. And Access had to ask Danielle if she thinks Caitlin and Jay have been hanging out since their under-the-mistletoe kiss in the midseason finale.

"I like to joke about this with Jesse Martin on the show. Jesse is very fascinating by the Jay/Caitlin relationship," Danielle said. "I think the truth of the matter is that Caitlin did lose Ronnie fairly recently and she's trying to move on one foot forward at [a] time, but I do like that it's been such a slow relationship to develop and there's a certain sweetness to it, I find. So I do think they are spending time together. I don't think they're necessarily as hot and heavy as Deathstorm and Killer Frost though."

Danielle Panabaker adelanta la introducción de Killer Frost y el Velocity 9
Por Sadie Gennis | 8 Feb, 2016 7:18 PM EST

The Flash fans have been waiting patiently to meet Caitlin Snow's (Danielle Panabaker) villainous alter-ego Killer Frost. On Tuesday we'll finally get the honor, when Barry (Grant Gustin), Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) visit Earth-2. In that universe, Killer Frost is working with Ronnie's doppelganger Deathstorm (Robbie Amell) on some nefarious missions that sweet scientist Caitlin would definitely not approve of.

Meanwhile, Earth-1 Caitlin will also have her hands full, as she continues her quest to restore Jay's (Teddy Sears) speed by attempting to invent Velocity 9. Check out what Panabaker revealed about Killer Frost, Velocity 9 and more in the interview below:

What was it like getting into the Killer Frost costume, hair and makeup for the first time?
Danielle Panabaker: It was pretty exciting. Obviously, it's something that we've been talking about and working on for a little while now. To finally get to be on set and duking it out with everyone was such a treat.

What can we expect of Killer Frost and the type of villain she is?
Panabaker: I mean, she's pretty terrible, I'm going to be honest. That's the fun thing about coming to play a villain on our show, you really get to take it far and push the envelope and play and really have a great time. She does not have any good motivation in her.

What aspects of Caitlin might we see in Killer Frost?
Panabaker: I don't know. I haven't really thought about that. I think they're pretty different. I think they're both pretty smart and both pretty loyal, but that's probably as many comparisons I can draw.

Are we going to learn what made Earth-2 Caitlin become Killer Frost?
Panabaker: I think in these couple of episodes, we're just going to focus on Killer Frost as she is now and how she is trying to attack everyone coming from Earth-1.

How does the team react to meeting Killer Frost and Deathstorm?
Panabaker: I think there's a lot of shock, initially. Imagine if you were in that position, seeing two very familiar faces looking extremely different. I think they take time to process it, but they don't have very much time to.

Was it fun to get to work with Robbie Amell again but in such a different capacity?
Panabaker: He's the best and we love having him on the show. It's always such a treat when we can get him.

How will Caitlin react when she eventually finds out about her and Ronnie's Earth-2 dopplegangers?
Panabaker: I think that's something that's maybe kept from Caitlin. I think Barry doesn't want to upset her, so I'm not sure it's information they share with her immediately.

Has Jay known about Killer Frost and been keeping it from Caitlin this entire time?
Panabaker: I imagine if he did, he was doing it to protect her. That would be like finding out your twin is Hitler or something like that. I think if that is something that was kept from her, it was kept with only the best of interests.

What can you say about Caitlin's mission to invent Velocity 9?
Panabaker: It comes from her deep affection for Jay and she wants to heal him. That really is who she is at the core. She's a doctor. She's a biochemist. Her passion is trying to save people and to take care of them. So when she finds out Jay is sick, she really wants to find a way to heal him and make him feel better.

The name of Jay's doppelganger is obviously a big red flag for fans of the comics. Had you known from the start that he would be Hunter Zolomon or was that also a surprise for you?
Panabaker: I am constantly impressed with our writers and the little tidbits that they share and how smart they are and when they choose to share these things. So it's something that I've been aware of, but hopefully we've been able to keep it a secret from the audience.

How soon will we begin to see the importance of that character and his name resurface?
Panabaker: Soon. You will see it soon.

Killer Frost isn't the only doppelganger we're meeting in this episode. What can you reveal about Earth-2 Cisco, Barry, Joe and Iris?
Panabaker: I think fans are going to be blown away in terms of doppelgangers. It's a testament to how talented our cast is, that they were able to pull off such departures from the characters they play every day.

Will coming face-to-face with their own doppelgangers have lasting affects on the way they any of the characters view themselves?
Panabaker: I do think it affects them. I think it causes them to pause and examine themselves and wonder. But I'll leave the audience to watch the episodes and see how.

How is Caitlin handling the fact that she's been betrayed by Harrison Wells once again?
Panabaker: I think this one's a little different. With Season 1 Harrison Wells, he was pretty black and white. There wasn't a lot of humanity to him that we could find. This Harrison Wells is trying to save his daughter. I think Caitlin can empathize with him a little bit, but it is pretty devastating to find out that he's been lying to them for so long.

Now that Legends of Tomorrow is here, are you itching to play a future or past version of Caitlin?
Panabaker: I would love to. I feel such affection for everyone who is on that show, particularly the ones who started onFlash. I would love to go and play in that world.

Is there anything you can tease about the return of King Shark and the Diggle's trip to Central City?
Panabaker: I'm excited for that episode. Things change for Caitlin and she starts to get in the action a little bit more.

Productores de Flash sobre la felicidad WestAllen, el diseño de producción y PKiller Frost en Tierra-2
Por Craig Byrne 9 Feb, 2016

Tonight’s episode of The Flash is one of the best episodes of comic book TV to air this season… you can read our advance review, complete with spoilers, over on KSiteTV… and after yesterday’s screening, Flash Executive Producers Todd Helbing and Aaron Helbing talked about the episode with a room full of press.

But before we talk about alternate universe versions of the characters, let’s get to that Really Big Thing — on Earth-2, Barry and Iris are together. As in married.

“Barry’s been in love with this woman his whole life. I can only imagine what it would be like to go to a different reality and find out you’re married [to her]. To actually exist and explore that, I think the fans are going to go crazy over it,” Todd Helbing said.

In addition to the coupled “WestAllen,” we will see a very different Central City as envisioned by the show’s production designer, Tyler Herron, which Aaron Helbing described as being “super retro with a modern tech aspect.”

“He blows everybody out of the water,” Todd added. “It’s amazing, the stuff he comes back [with.] We get these sketches of Earth-2 and all the buildings, and what they’re gonna look like. It’s amazing.”

Tonight’s episode of The Flash also [finally] introduces Caitlin Snow’s alter ego of Killer Frost, with Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) as Deathstorm at her side. “It felt the most appropriate and the most organic to go over there and meet Killer Frost and Deathstorm and get to see a completely different aspect of their superpowers,” Todd said. “Not really their superpowers, but their personalities to go along with those superpowers. Getting anybody to play a doppelganger that’s evil is in some ways the most fun you can have,” he continued.

Could Killer Frost be something that’ll pass over into Earth-1?

“Anything’s possible,” Aaron Helbing teased.

Robbie Amell sobre el la desagradable característica de Deathstorm y una 'descorazonadora muerte'
Por Bryan Cairns, 09 Feb 2016

Whether it's as Ronnie Raymond on "The Flash," "The Tomorrow People's" Stephen Jameson, or "The Duff's" Wesley, Robbie Amell has mastered the kindhearted, tortured hero routine. However, someone obviously revoked his good-guy card for his role as Deathstorm on "The Flash." The sadistic Earth-2 doppelganger of Firestorm, Deathstorm and Killer Frost, Earth-2's Caitlin Snow, get their kicks out of bringing about death and destruction. At the end of last week's "Fast Lane," Barry Allen and Cisco Ramon prepared to journey to the alternate Earth to aid Harrison Wells in saving his daughter from Zoom. That noble act will place the trio in Deathstorm's line of fire.

Ahead of tonight's all-new episode "Welcome to Earth-2," Amell spoke to CBR News about taking a walk on the dark side with Deathstorm, his dynamic with Killer Frost and killing a major character. In addition, Amell opened up about why he's Mulder 2.0 on "The X-Files" and his desire to play Batman.

CBR News: We know Firestorm, but who is Deathstorm and what is his shtick on Earth-2?

Robbie Amell: Essentially, Deathstorm is Firestorm, if he were a bad guy. Dr. [Martin] Stein doesn't get to share the body. He's trapped. It's all Ronnie/Deathstorm, and he's mean.

Earth-2's Caitlin Snow looks nothing like her counterpart. In what ways have they changed up Robbie/Firestorm's appearance and power levels?

I honestly don't know about visually yet. I haven't seen the episode. There was talk about a different color of flame, but that may be too expensive. His power level is very much the same. But, when you're a bad guy, you don't play by the same rules.

What is the dynamic like between Deathstorm and Killer Frost?

I like to think of them as the Bonnie and Clyde of metahumans.

What brings Deathstorm into conflict with Barry Allen and how does he respond to having another Flash on this world?

Deathstorm and Killer Frost work for Reverb [AKA Cisco Ramon] on Earth-2, who works for Zoom. We're super-powered henchmen. When Barry comes into enemy territory, we get to have some fun.

Deathstorm ultimately kills someone important to the show. How did you find out about that development and what was your reaction?

It's awesome to get to kill a character, but not have to worry about someone losing their job. That's the fun with multiple Earths. You get to meet new versions of the same people on the show you love. You get to experience losing them without the major consequences -- sometimes, anyway.

In the comic books, one of Deathstorm's victims was transformed from living human into a mineral. Are there any nods to that death? How brutal and heartbreaking is the casualty fans will see tonight?

Not yet. We still haven't worked matter manipulation into the show. Hopefully in the future. It's a pretty heartbreaking death.

In the majority of your roles, you play the good-hearted character. What was fun about being evil for a change?

It was awesome. Danielle [Panabaker] and I had talked about it for a while and were very excited to get the script. You get to play more of a character as a bad guy on Earth-2 and be a little bigger and put on a little more of a show.

Beyond your work in the CW's DC TV universe, you've made it no secret that you would love to play Batman. What about that character, especially the "Batman Beyond" version, speaks to you?

I've always loved Batman. Actually before I can remember anything, I remember loving Batman. I can't tell you what it was when I was a kid, but as an adult, I like the balance of Bruce and Batman. Being a playboy billionaire, saving Gotham, a broken man who lost his parents and Batman himself -- there are so many levels to play with. And, essentially, he's just a man. No powers. It makes it feel more grounded to me.

"Batman Beyond" got my attention because a friend said I looked like Terry McGinnis. I checked it out and loved it. It was a nice, new take on a property I've enjoyed for so many years.

Next up, you are appearing in "The X-Files" revival miniseries. What was the audition process like and how shrouded in secrecy was it?

I got back from shooting "Nine Lives" in Montreal on a Thursday. I had four pages of audition sides I read for Chris Carter on Saturday and was booked on the show by Tuesday. I knew nothing about the new season other than I was going to be a Mulder-type new agent at the FBI.

Introduce us to your character, Agent Miller. What makes him different -- or similar -- from Scully and Mulder?

Agent Miller is definitely more of a Mulder-type. My character spent time with the Bureau in Afghanistan and is now working locally. He picks up on a possible terror threat, but needs help from Mulder and Scully to take his investigation deeper.

How are we introduced to him and where does he fit into the X-Files case?

Agent Miller is seeking help with a case. His partner, Agent Einstein, is a medical doctor like Scully. She's not giving him the support he needs, so he seeks the help of Mulder and Scully.

Your eyes were not deceiving you during The Flash‘s trip to Earth-Two on Tuesday: over there, Cisco is — gasp! — evil, Barry and Iris are married, and some of the biggest superheroes are just a phone call away.

The Flash Barry's Phone on Earth-TwoBut don’t read too much into the fact that Bruce, Hal and Diana (aka Batman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman) are on Barry’s speed dial. They’re just Easter eggs — of which there were many in the hour, including shout-outs to Aquaman’s Atlantis and Supergirl.

“We had a giant board of probably 50 ideas, and we had to just whittle them down,” executive producer Aaron Helbing shares. (Feel free to hit the comments and try to ID all the ones that made it to air! Who spied the Legion ring, as previously promised?)

Below, EPs Aaron and Todd Helbing talk about how the speedster will handle being hitched to Iris and what Earth-Two’s Reverb reveal means for Cisco. They also preview alt Barry’s “pivotal” role in next Tuesday’s conclusion.

GOING TO THE DARKSIDE | After meeting his Earth-Two self – a villainous metahuman named Reverb who works for Zoom – Cisco discovered that he has potential abilities beyond his wildest dreams, and one day, they may come to fruition. After the moment “Cisco saw the magnitude of the powers that he’s capable of, anything’s possible now,” Aaron Helbing teases.

BEHIND THE CELL | Even though he has captured The Flash, Zoom’s plan to steal his speed is far from ready to be executed. “He doesn’t have all the ingredients,” Aaron Helbing explains. “We established earlier in the season that he needed other aspects of other people to help the process.” Meanwhile, imprisoned Barry will start to form a relationship with Harry’s daughter Jesse, just as her father and Cisco seek out help from a very unexpected source in order to rescue their loved ones, Todd Helbing previews. You may have also noticed a masked man opposite Barry’s cell. He is “there for a reason,” the EP hints. As for the Big Bad’s identity, it “starts to unravel” over the next couple episodes.

A TALE OF TWO BARRYS | If you’re bummed about not getting to see much of Earth-Two Barry, fret not, there’s plenty of the “very entertaining” doppelganger in the next installment, Todd Helbing promises. “He’s quite a bit different,” the EP describes, noting that the character was originally intended to have a Jimmy Stewart quality. “We really just gave Grant [Gustin] a few ideas, and he took it upon himself and created this amazing guy. It’s hilarious. It was an interesting juggle between this very dire circumstance and then this very funny Earth-Two Barry,” who also plays “a pivotal role” in helping the other Barry.

MR. AND MRS. ALLEN | Knowing that he and Iris are happily wedded on Earth-Two “affects [Barry] quite a bit,” Todd Helbing previews. Their relationship “really sits with him. That’s going to be on his mind quite a bit in upcoming episodes.” (Could it also be the “much bigger thing” that Barry has to tell Iris?)

The Flash Earth-Two SpoilersIS IT COLD IN HERE? | Just because Caitlin fulfilled her comic book destiny by becoming Killer Frost on Earth-Two doesn’t mean the Ms. Snow we know won’t take an icy turn. However, “right now, she’s not affected,” Todd Helbing notes. “For that to happen, there’s going to have to be some scenario that would trigger that. Right now, it’s not a possibility.”

Productores ejecutivos de 'The Flash' diseccionan los momentos impactantes de Tierra-2, los Easter Eggs de DC Comics y qué es lo siguiente

The Flash's Earth-2 was filled to the brim with evil doppelgangers and comic book easter eggs.

When The CW's DC Comics drama finally traveled to the alternate universe which spawned Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) and Harry Wells (Tom Cavanagh), Barry (Grant Gustin) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) came across their fair share of shocking revelations. On Earth-2, Barry and Iris (Candice Patton) are married, and she gave up her journalism career to become a police detective with Arrow's Floyd "Deadshot" Lawton (Michael Rowe) as her partner. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) was never a cop, and spends his nights singing in a club... as well as hating Barry.

As for the rest of the S.T.A.R. Labs team? Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) and Ronnie (Robbie Amell) are the evil metahumans Killer Frost and Deathstorm, and report to their leader Reverb, aka Cisco's evil counterpart, who also reports to Zoom. But when Deathstorm and Reverb couldn't help themselves and hurt Barry in their epic fight at the end of the hour, Zoom killed his two henchmen for breaking his one rule: capture but don't hurt speedsters. Zoom wants Barry's speed for himself, so he locked him up in his lair, right next to Harry's daughter's cell.

The Flash executive producers Todd Helbing and Aaron Helbing spoke with a small group of reporters about all the Earth-2 shockers and deaths and what's ahead.

After seeing what Reverb can do, will Cisco try to learn more about his powers despite Reverb's death?

Aaron Helbing: Once you're exposed to something that's possible, once Cisco saw the magnitude of the powers that he's capable of, anything is possible now. We may explore that. Getting anyone to play a doppelganger that's evil is in some ways the most fun you can have.

Zoom killed Reverb, but is there a chance we might see Cisco's evil doppelganger again?

Todd Helbing: It's Flash so they may show up again in some form or another. But for the purpose of where we want to take Cisco, having him die there was the best way to get what we want out of this character.

Has Zoom already stolen Barry's speed, or is that still to come?

Todd: [Zoom] hasn't taken his speed yet. That is his plan, to take his speed, so now that he has him, he has 50 percent of what he needs.

Aaron: He doesn't have all the ingredients, per se. We established earlier in the season that he needed other aspects or other people to help with that process.

What's coming up in the second part of the Earth-2 storyline, airing next Tuesday?

Todd: The central story is Barry is trapped by Zoom, how do we deal with that? And back on Earth-1, Geomancer is out there. The Flash is locked up in a cell, so they really don't have a way to deal with him now that they're Flash-less. They have to come up with a new plan and we get to see somebody step up to the plate. Caitlin's been working on the Velocity drug and Jay is adamant against taking it, but with no other choice, we'll see Earth-2 Jay Garrick be the hero we know he can be. Cisco and Wells are trying to come up with a plan on how to get Barry out of the predicament he's in. They seek out help from somebody that you would never expect and they do their best to set up this rescue mission.

Jay took the Velocity 7 drug in order to try and stop Geomancer on Earth-1, but it didn't last very long. Will he start to suffer from other side effects from that?

Aaron: Further down the road, you'll see what happens when you take Velocity 9 and how bad it can get.

Are there other prisoners locked up in Zoom's lair with Barry and Harry's daughter Jesse (Violett Beane)?

Todd: There aren't any other prisoners, but the man in the mask is there for a reason. This is really the first time that [Jesse and Barry] meet. They're in Zoom's lair and you'll see in the next episode how this relationship starts and forms and where it leads them to.

Earth-1 Barry knocked Earth-2 Barry out pretty quickly and he was out for the entire first part of the Earth-2 storyline. Will he return in the next episode?

Todd: You will in the next episode see a lot more of Earth-2 Barry. He's quite a bit different than Earth-1 Barry. From Joe's point of view, he's pretty selfish. That plays into what happens with him in the next episode. He's very entertaining. He's hilarious.

Now that Barry and Cisco know about all these Earth-2 doppelgangers, how will that affect them when they return to Earth-1?

Todd: All these experiences of everyone meeting these doppelgangers -- a lot of that information they now have. So they're able to bring that back if they get back. It affects [Barry] quite a bit. The relationship with Iris really sits with him quite a bit and that's going to be on his mind in upcoming episodes.

There were so many DC Comics nods sprinkled in throughout the hour, like Hal and Diana's names on Barry's speed dial to Mayor Snart and so much more. How did you decide what easter eggs to include in the episode?

Aaron: We had a giant board of probably 50 ideas and we had to whittle them down to the bare bones.

Todd: You try to make them as organic as possible. We would tell you [the easter eggs that didn't make the cut] but they'll probably end up in other episodes.

Productores ejecutivos de The Flash adelantan el escape de Tierra-2 de la próxima semana
Por Russ Burlingame 10/02/2016

Tonight's episode of The Flash was a game-changer, chock full of references to DC continuity and building the world of Earth-2 more in one hour than the rest of the season has done as a whole.

There's plenty more of that to come next week, as Barry Allen attempts an escape from Earth-2 and a rescue for Jesse, the daughter of Harrison Wells.

ComicBook.com was among a group of reporters present at a screening of "Welcome to Earth-2" earlier this week, where executive producers Todd and Aaron Helbing told us what to expect from next week's episode.

Has Zoom taken Barry’s speed?

Todd Helbing: No, he hasn’t taken Barry’s speed. You’ll find out [about his plan] in the next episode.

Why Mayor Snart instead of Citizen Cold?

Todd Helbing: That's a good question! I don't know.

Aaron Helbing: It was unexpected, I think.

Obviously, that is his big plan is to take his speed so now that he has him, he has let’s say 50% of what he needs.

Aaron Helbing: He doesn’t have all the ingredients, per se. We established earlier in the season that he needed other aspects or other people to help the process.

Obviously Jesse’s in a cell but there’s another interesting-looking gentleman. Is there any more to that?

Todd Helbing: There aren’t any other prisoners, but the man in the mask is there for a reason.

Through Barry, will we get to know Jesse a bit more?

Todd Helbing: yeah, this is really the first time they meet, there in Zoom’s lair, so you’ll see in the next episode how this relationship starts and forms and where it leads them to.

We don’t know much about E2 Barry. Why would he have people like Diana and Hal in his phone?

Todd Helbing: Just for Easter eggs. But you will in the next episode see a lot more of Earth-2 Barry. He’s quite a bit different from Earth-1 Barry.

Is he really as selfish as Joe seems to feel?

Todd Helbing: I think from Joe’s perspective, he’s very selfish.I think that plays into what happens to him int he next episode.

It seemed Killer Frost and Deathstorm are pretty well-established on Earth-2. Will there be any fallout that Jay and Wells didn’t tell Caitlin that her Earth-2 self was evil?

Aaron Helbing: I don’t know if you want to tell somebody that their counterpart was evil.

Todd Helbing: You bring up an interesting point, though; with all of these experiences and Cisco and Barry meeting their doppelgängers, a lot of that information, they’re able to bring that back if they get back.

A lot of what we see in Barry’s life in Earth-2 is what Season One Barry would have wanted. He sees that isn’t all a good thing for him, but how much is seeing what this other Barry can experience going to inform him?

Todd Helbing: It affects him quite a bit. I think the relationship with Iris really sits with him quite a bit, and that’s going to be on his mind quite a bit in upcoming episodes.

Can you talk about what everyone is dealing with back on Earth-1 next week?

Todd Helbing:Geomancer is out there and The Flash is locked up in the call, so they really don’t have a way to deal with him now that they’re Flash-less. So they have to come up with a new plan and we get to see somebody step up to the plate. You get to see Caitlin’s been working on the Velocity drug and Jay’s clearly adamant against taking it, but with no other choice, we get to see the Earth-2 Jay Garrick be the hero. We have Cisco and Wells trying to come up with a plan as to how to get Barry out of the predicament he’s in. So they seek out help from somebody you’d never expect to set up this rescue mission. And on Earth-1 they still have to deal with Geomancer and the breach issue.

Can you talk a little more about the Velocity drug?

Aaron Helbing: I think ti’s just an evolution like any science. You start with one and keep building off of that and hopefully you improve it.

Todd Helbing: Caitlin has been trying to help Jay in as many ways as possible.

Both Wally and Jesse are speedsters in the comics and now Caitlin is making this speedster drug. Will that have ramifications down the road?

Todd Helbing: It’s possible.

Aaron Helbing: It will, yes.

Can you talk a little bit about the negative side effects from the Velocity drug?

Aaron Helbing: Not in this episode but further down the road you’ll definitely see what happens when you take Velocity 9 and how bad it can get.

Will we get to see more of Barry interacting with his Earth-2 mom?

Todd Helbing: Not in this story, no. We just felt the moment when Barry talks to his mom was really powerful, and we wanted to explore that.

If your vacation plans have ever been screwed up, you can relate (in a small way) to Barry, Cisco and Wells' current situation. Last night's episode of "The Flash" took the trio to Earth-2 with a goal and a specific plan that proceeded to fall apart almost as soon as they arrived. Their adventures brought them face-to-face with Zoom, Killer Frost, Deathstorm and the deadly Reverb. Meanwhile, Barry learned his Earth-2 doppelgänger is married to Iris and has an antagonistic relationship with Joe.

"The Flash" executive producers Todd and Aaron Helbing spoke with Comic Book Resources and a handful of other journalists to break down the surprises in "Welcome to Earth-2."

Promising there aren't any other prisoners in Zoom's lair beyond the ones viewers saw at the end of last night's episode -- a man in a metal mask, and was Jesse -- Todd teased that the man in the mask is "there for a reason," and Barry will get to know Jesse. Todd said in the next episode we'll see "how this relationship starts and forms and where it leads them to."

A few major clashes aside, Zoom has been more of a looming threat rather than a constant presence villain in this season. Now, as we're about to spend more time with him, viewers are inching closer to learning his true identity, with Aaron saying, "It really starts to heat up." Todd said the next couple of episodes push into what's happening. "It starts to unravel. You can see what's really going on."

Both Earth-1 and Earth-2 Barry will face challenges as a result of the trip, with Earth-2 Barry will play a pivotal role in helping Earth-1 Barry -- whether he likes it or not.

"You meet [Earth-2 Barry] in one spot at the beginning of the episode, and he has his own arc and journey throughout the episode to become something bigger than he is," Todd said.

If Earth-1 Barry gets back home, he'll do so with the knowledge that Earth-2's versions of Barry and Iris are married, and that information will not be ignored. "Barry's been in love with this woman his whole life," Todd explained. "I can only imagine what that would be like to go over to a different reality and find out that you're married to [an unrequited love] -- and that it actually exists and [you] explore that. The relationship with Iris really sits with him quite a bit. That's going to be on his mind in upcoming episodes."

Despite the episode being full of big moments and surprising Easter eggs, the most unexpected twist in "Welcome to Earth-2" may have been the appearance of Cisco's doppelgänger, Reverb. The evil yet smooth lookalike displayed powers Cisco hasn't even dreamed of yet. Now that those abilities are on his radar, he could start really flexing his Vibe skills.

"I feel like once you're exposed to something that's possible -- it's like the first time Tony Hawk did a 720 on a skateboard, everyone could then do it," Aaron said. "Once Cisco saw the magnitude of the power he's capable of, anything's possible now, in his mind, and we may explore that."

Zoom killed Reverb for failing to follow his orders, but that doesn't necessarily mean we've seen the last of Cisco's evil counterpart. Reverb and Ronnie could show up again in some form or another because it's "The Flash," Todd said -- with a caveat. "I think for the purpose of where we want to take Cisco, having him [Reverb] die there was the best way to get what we want out of the character."

After suffering the shock of meeting his doppelgänger -- and watching him die -- Cisco has to pull it together to help Barry. As we enter next week's episode, Zoom has captured his prey, and though he hasn't yet taken Barry's speed, it's only a matter of time before he does.

"Obviously, [Zoom's] big plan is to take [Barry's] speed, so now that he has him, he has 50 percent of what he needs," Todd said. "He doesn't have all the ingredients, per se," Aaron added. "We established earlier in the season that he needs other aspects or other people to help that process."

While Barry, Cisco, and Wells dealt with the constant parade of shocks in Earth-2, the Earth-1 portion of Team Flash had to face Geomancer. Caitlin used a modified version of Velocity 6 on Jay to help him race to stop the newest metahuman in Central City. However, it wasn't enough.

"Further down the road, you'll definitely see what happens when you take Velocity 9 and how bad it can get," Aaron said, adding that there could be ramifications to the perfected formula concerning Wally West and Jesse Quick, both comic book speedsters in their own right.
