'The Rogues' acaban de conseguir un nuevo miembro. E!

'The Top',

CqPGrZJVIAAiQpE.jpg

Cqmcvz2VIAASx6_.jpg

Imagen
https://twitter.com/GBerlanti/status/768202940297256960

The upcoming CW crossover between “The Flash” and “Supergirl” is possibly the most anticipated event of the year because on top of being a crossover, it will also be a musical.

As exciting as it is to hear that these superhero shows will be taking advantage of their ridiculously multi-talented cast, we have been wondering just how the episode will manage to incorporate singing and dancing into the mix without seeming absurd.

In an interview with Collider, “Supergirl” showrunner Andrew Kreisberg revealed that it may just be all in their heads.

“It’s funny, we have villains that can split the earth in half. We have villains that can run at the speed of light,” he says. “What’s so crazy about a villain that can make you think your friends are singing and dancing in front of you?”

The news that a new villain will be coming to make National City a whole lot more musical is a great excuse to work some song and dance in there.

The fact that this villain can compel people to perform — or at least compel the hallucination that they’re performing — even harkens back to the musical episode of “Buffy,” when the vampire slayer and her friends were forced to sing and dance thanks to a demon’s evil influence.

We’re most interested to hear if this new villain will zero in on one of our heroes in particular when he or she arrives. As hilarious as it is to imagine everyone falling under the same musical sway, it’s almost funnier to imagine Kara (Melissa Benoist) or Barry (Grant Gustin) as the only ones hearing/seeing the musical production happening in their heads.

As for who this villain might be, we’re taking a close look at the Music Meister. Originally a Batman villain, the Music Meister works in much the same way that “Buffy’s” musical demon, Sweet, does. A villain who forces his victims to dance to whichever beat he chooses, the Music Meister uses the power of hypnosis to compel these impromptu musicals.

Hypnosis sounds just about right for a hallucination-type of episode, don’t you think?

“Supergirl” returns Oct. 10th at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the CW.

Flash fans, we know what you’re thinking: Barry has to fight yet another evil speedster this coming season?

And while it’s true that one of the hero’s two main enemies will be the “speed god” Savitar (glimpsed in a recent promo), Big Bad No. 1 will take on a battle approach not yet explored on the CW drama.

“[Season 3] is more about psychological warfare,” executive producer Aaron Helbing previews. Besides, “everything about [Savitar] is different than Zoom or Reverse-Flash,” EP Todd Helbing adds. “I can’t go into too much detail, but he’s quite a bit different.”flash-season-3-alchemy

As if one bad guy wasn’t enough, Barry — amid the Flashpoint of it all — will also face off with Dr. Alchemy (pictured right, voiced by Saw‘s Tobin Bell) as the series juggles two huge villains for the first time.

“[We’re] trying to have the powers that they both possess play off of each other,” Todd Helbing explains. “It’s not just, ‘Oh, I have to catch this guy and take him down.’ It’s like, ‘Crap, now there’s this other guy, Dr. Alchemy,’ who has these transmutation qualities [via] this Philosopher’s Stone. You start to learn what he does with this stuff and how the both of them are coexisting.”

For the Scarlet Speedster, the problem becomes, “‘Just when I think I’ve taken down this guy, I’ve got this [other] dude to worry about, and vice versa,'” the EP continues. “It’s like flanking.”

Although Barry thus has his superhero work cut out for him, don’t expect the show to get gloomy again. As the result of a sinister threat and frequent bouts of doubt and angst, Season 2’s “last 5 [or] 6 episodes were pretty dark,” Todd Helbing admits. “Zoom, in general, was dark. It even got darker than we probably anticipated. So we’re making a conscious effort to go back more toward the tone of Season 1.”

The Flash opens Season 3 on Tuesday, Oct. 4, kicking off the return of The CW’s superhero slate (which now also features Supergirl).

Tom Felton has recently joined season three of The Flash and has been open about the fact that his character will be causing some conflicts for our Flash favorites.

Felton will be playing Julian Dorn, a CSI agent that also works at the Central City Policy Department. Dorn will be working alongside Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), allowing for their characters to interact.
“He’s a forensic expert, so he treads on the toes of much of what Barry is good at. Hence they have a slightly abrasive relationship at first. I say abrasive, but I mean that – clearly because of the events of the season – none of the relationships that Barry has had with other cast members is the same.”
As a result of The Flash season two finale, season three will find our characters in completely different situations compared to before. Felton explained that this change in storyline helps to create the dynamic between his character and Allen.
“He’s not familiar with me, but I’m familiar with him, so it’s an odd dynamic. It seems like a love/hate thing at first.”
The Harry Potter star was also asked if this character would be a change of pace from his traditional acting roles. Felton played one of the main villains throughout the Harry Potter series and played an extremely unlikeable character in Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
“Absolutely not. I would hope the opposite.”
Earlier this year at San Diego Comic-Con, Felton was asked by ComicBook.com's Russ Burlingame if Dorn was more than likely going to be a bad guy, and Felton referenced his earlier work there as well.
"I don't know. I mean...they came to me for a reason. I'm not sure what that reason is yet. I know there's going to be some serious material to sink my teeth into at some point. Like you said I think he's suspicious of Barry's position."

"I also think he's as smart as Barry. At least in the forensic world, Barry's not used to having a mind as sharp as his around -- and he has a smug air of superiority, I think, over Barry. So, hey, it lends itself to many different choices and many different storylines. It's not really worth speculating because I'm sure the writers have something much cooler in mind."
The Flash returns to the CW on October 4th.

Carlos Valdes, a.k.a. Cisco of the CW’s Flash fame, made an appearance for the press at this year’s Dragon Con in Atlanta over Labor Day Weekend. An important friend and ally to Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), Cisco helps the speedster combat metahuman threats with gadgets, technological know-how, and a constant barrage of quips that has made him one of the most endearing parts of the series for fans. In the interview, Valdes touched upon diversity in the Hollywood industry, what’s coming up in The Flash’s third season, whether or not his character will continue on the path to becoming the DC comic hero “Vibe,” and just how crossover-heavy the CW will be this season with the addition of Supergirl to the ranks alongside superhero stalwarts Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow.

On The Flash/Supergirl Musical Crossover

Valdes was first asked a question regarding the announced crossover episode between the Flash and Supergirl this season, which will in fact be a musical. The two cheery heroes did meet in a an episode of Supergirl wherein Barry was mistakenly launched into Kara’s dimension, but despite the two being Glee alums, there was no singing involved. Obviously, this upcoming crossover will rectify that. “We, the actors, don’t know much about it so far. They’re very good about keeping us in the dark about it. I know that the wish is to have as much music as possible in the episodes themselves, but I’m not sure how much will be in there. We’ll just have to see what it will all sound like,” Valdes noted. He also added, “I do currently know the concept behind it (the crossover). It’s very entertaining and it leads to infinite possibilities.”

On the “Flashpoint” version of Cisco

In the finale of The Flash Season 2, Barry decided to travel back in time to save his mother from Eobard Thawne, the Reverse Flash. In doing so, he created an alternate timeline wherein things are vastly different from what we currently know. In the comics, Flashpoint harkened in a new era for DC Comics, changing all the heroes from the ground floor up, so needless to say when this was announced for the television theories, fans expressed some serious interest. Valdes said:

“This character I’m playing is still Cisco Ramon, but it’s obviously an alternate reality version of him in which he is still a genius and still posses a technological prowess about him. Now though he’s able to cash in on that prowess and build his way up the ladder to become the richest man in America. He’s a billionaire! He’s created all these things and these apps at Ramon Industries — which looks a lot like S.T.A.R. Labs — and he’s ostentatious, not afraid to flaunt his wealth which makes for interesting colors and relationship dynamics. Barry has to struggle with the fact that this is not the Cisco he knows and there’s a bit of an antagonistic energy to this Cisco. It’s what makes the beginning of Season 3 so interesting.

On Diversity in the Superhero Genre

Diversity has always been tricky for some bigger comic book companies and the Hollywood industry as a whole. Carlos took time to address this fact by stating,

“As a kid, I always wanted to be an entertainer, so I emulated a lot of great actors and roles from my childhood. I fell in love with all that material and I never once considered the idea that my race would be an obstacle. In stage shows, there are these roles that are traditionally played by white men. I always imagined these moments in these plays when I was a kid without that (race) being a part of the aesthetic. As I got older, I realized it was actually a limitation in that I might not be able to play some of the parts that I loved so much. In that though, there is a sense now of great optimism wherein there are shows written like Hamilton that exist. Roles are being written for people of color, and it’s a beautiful thing to witness. I really find myself looking forward to the roles that have yet to be written, as Cisco once was.”

On Vibe: His Powers, His Costume, and Flashpoint

“First and foremost,” Carlos stressed after being asked about Cisco learning to master his powers and walk the path closer to his comic book roots, “I think it’s important to stress that the altered timeline of Flashpoint will not overtake the season. I think this season is more focused on the repercussions of the creation of that timeline and it being opened. I think a lot of fans are expressing concern at their favorite characters and relationships being gone, but without giving too much away, I can assure fans that is NOT the case. With that said, we get back to exploring Cisco and his powers.” Valdes then interestingly stressed, “Powers grow. That’s what they do.”

This of course led to a question regarding whether Cisco would be getting his own costume as the superhero, Vibe. Carlos took a second to contemplate then responded soundly with, “No comment.”

On Working With Tom Felton

After being asked about his love of Harry Potter, Valdes regaled reporters with stories of his love of the original series and his eventual “falling out” with the novels, to then jump back into the world of Hogwarts with the movies. Tom Felton, who portrayed the villainous Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter series of films, has been cast as a yet unspecified role within The Flash’s third season, which Carlos was happy to address. “Tom is the best. We’ve hung out a few times and he’s so interesting, I’m learning a lot from him. The work that he brings on set is inspiring, and Grant (Gustin) feels the same way. They’ve been working a lot together recently in fact, there’s so much love there. I’m excited to see how fans react to his work.”

On the CW DC Show Crossovers

“This is the biggest year for crossovers that there ever has been.” Carlos noted when asked about The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl crossing over. “There is a LOT of stuff planned. It’s going to be a busy year.”

Be sure to catch Carlos Valdes in The Flash Season 3 when it premieres on October 4th.

Por Kris Wouk 06 Sept 2016

Fans of CW’s “The Flash” are gearing up for the fast-approaching season three premiere — a premiere that is set to kick off with its own version of one of DC’s most popular recent stories, “Flashpoint.” Over the weekend, actor Carlos Valdes spoke to a crowd at Dragon Con in Atlanta about what this alternate “Flashpoint” reality has in store for Cisco Ramon.

“This character I’m playing is still Cisco Ramon, but it’s obviously an alternate reality version of him in which he is still a genius and still posses a technological prowess about him. Now though he’s able to cash in on that prowess and build his way up the ladder to become the richest man in America,” Valdes said, as reported by Collider.

“He’s a billionaire! It’s what makes the beginning of season three so interesting.”

While “Flashpoint” is exciting for fans on its own, season three has more in store, with a “Supergirl” crossover that also happens to be a musical. Details are currently under wraps, even for the actors, but Valdes dropped a few hints about the anticipated event.

“They’re very good about keeping us in the dark about it. I know that the wish is to have as much music as possible in the episodes themselves, but I’m not sure how much will be in there. We’ll just have to see what it will all sound like,” he said.

Valdes also discussed his character’s growing vibe powers, and whether or not this season will see him become a real superhero like his character does in the comic, albeit vaguely. “Powers grow. That’s what they do,” he said. When asked whether Cisco will don a costume this year, Valdes responded simply: “No comment.”

Thought The Flash’s season 2 finale, which saw Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) change the series’ entire timeline by saving his mother’s life, was nuts? Well, the butterfly effects of that choice are about to get even weirder —
as fans of The Flash comic well know.

In
the comics, the twisty, seminal Flashpoint story line finds Barry in an alternate world where his mother is no longer dead and most of the world’s heroes are more like
villains — Aquaman is at war with Wonder Woman, Batman is Thomas Wayne, not his son Bruce, and Captain Cold is Central City’s savior Citizen Cold.

Unlike the global scale of the comic, though, the CW series is taking a more personal approach to the changes Barry has wrought. “All of that stuff is not at our disposal, which is fine with us, because we really wanted to do something personal to Barry,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells EW. “The stakes in the comic book in Flashpoint were global and the stakes in this episode are very much just about Barry, his existence, and the people that he loves.” (Though, Flashpoint will spill over in a very specific way on Arrow with David Ramsey’s Diggle.)

Three months have passed since Barry’s fateful decision to save his mother from being killed by the Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher). He’s been living in bliss with his mother Nora (Michelle Harrison) and father Henry (John Wesley Shipp), both of whom are dead in the original timeline. “He’s actually in a happy place, which is somewhere you don’t always see Barry Allen in,” Kreisberg says. “He’s now living in a world where his mother is alive and he’s taking it as, ‘I’ve finally got my reward for all of the suffering that I’ve gone through. This is my prize.’”

And while that’s quite the drastic change for Barry, the Flashpoint timeline itself “looks like our world,” Kreisberg says. “Most of the changes are to Barry’s life and him being at the nexus of these changes. He’s put all of the people that are in his life — Joe [Jesse L. Martin], Iris [Candice Patton], Cisco [Carlos Valdes], and Caitlin [Danielle Panabaker] — and spun them into different ways.”

For example, Barry may still have his powers, but he’s no longer a hero, replaced by new speedster Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale). “We wanted to do something bold and start the season off with a bang,” Kreisberg says. “So we decided to get Wally in the suit. The circumstances of how that happens, well, you’ll have to watch to see.”

Barry’s former allies also don’t even know him. Joe, for one, struggles in his own relationship with his daughter Iris. “In some ways, Barry has sacrificed his relationship with Joe for his relationship with his birth family, and that’s one of the challenges that Barry has to overcome in the episode,” Kreisberg teases. But that also means Barry has a clean slate with Iris and can actually woo her. “Barry says in the episode, ‘Iris is always Iris,’” Kreisberg notes. “So their relationship and their connection seems to be able to survive any changes to the timeline or any universe. There’s always something between them.”

Cisco, meanwhile, is now an ostentatious billionaire running apparent S.T.A.R. Labs replacement Ramon Industries. “It was something we talked about doing for Earth-2 with Cisco, that he was rich and a billionaire,” Kreisberg says. “We just had a lot of fun with the idea of seeing that version of the character. We learned a lot last season doing Earth-2 and watching the dichotomy between the characters, especially watching how different they could be, and having such an amazingly talented cast that can pull off multiple versions of these characters. It’s just always fun to have Barry have to interact with different versions of the people that he knows well, because the audience knows them so well. A selfish, rich, cowardly Cisco couldn’t be further from the Cisco that we all know and love.”

For Caitlin and Harry (Tom Cavanagh), though, Kreisberg plays mum on how they’re different — a running theme each season for the latter. “I don’t want to get too much into the specifics of it, because that’s part of the fun of going through this journey to Oz with these characters,” Kreisberg says. “The audience is discovering as they watch it what’s different and what’s the same.” However different these characters may be, “Part of Barry’s
journey is getting these people, who aren’t necessarily the best version of themselves, to find their inner hero,” Kreisberg says of all the former Team Flash members.

Barry’s decision will
also ultimately bring two new villains into the fray: the yet-to-be-cast Doctor Alchemy and speedster Savitar. “We’re so excited about the dynamic between the villains and their dynamic with Flash, and the rest of the team,” Kreisberg says, teasing that Doctor Alchemy’s agenda is tied into the other villains, plural. “We really want to play cards down for now, because the surprises are going to be worth the wait.”

The current prevailing theory is that new cast member Tom Felton, who joins the show as CSI Julian Dorn, is actually Doctor Alchemy — he comes on as Barry’s nemesis at work in this new timeline. The duo have been sharing workspace for the last year and Julian “definitely treads on the toes of Barry’s expertise,” Felton says.

But Kreisberg, again, is staying mum, instead praising Felton’s addition to the cast. “We’ve obviously always been fans of Tom’s,” he says of casting the Harry Potter alum. “We’ve all seen him grow up from an amazing child actor to an amazing adult actor. Season threes are typically when you add that character that comes in to shake things up, just in the same way we added Brandon Routh to Arrow in season 3. Having Tom join the show and adding his energy, his delivery, and his performance to our very tightly knit cast is definitely meant to help shake things up.”

The Flashpoint timeline will also welcome back a familiar face, Reverse-Flash, who will serve as Barry’s conscience. “Barry has messed with the universe to find his happy ending and he’s put in the awkward and ironic position of having his greatest villain, the man who killed his mother, being the one to tell him, ‘This is wrong, you’re a hero and heroes don’t do this,’” Kreisberg says. “It’s a great way to have him interact with his singular greatest foe by having the villain essentially be on the side of the angels and be right.”

And while the show may be going micro when it comes to Flashpoint, fans of the source material will still be delighted by the Easter eggs throughout. “There’s a couple of nods to the comics in there,” Kreisberg says. “There’s actually some dialogue from the comic in the episode. But as always, the movies are the movies and TV is TV, and we’re not trying to infringe on their purview.”

Kreisberg also reveals that there’s a ticking clock on Flashpoint as Barry’s memories of the old timeline begin to be replaced by the new, forcing him to make a big choice. “We are going to see him start to have some regrets and realize how selfish of a decision it was [to save his mom],” Gustin says. Kreisberg adds that Barry will be “coping with [the fact that] he may have traded his happiness for his friends. He begins to see that the cost of him getting his happy ending might be too much to bear.”

With that in mind, the Flashpoint storyline is not expected to last long, but it will leave a lasting impression. “It will be resolved, but there will be consequences that last throughout the season, and quite frankly, last throughout the series,” Kreisberg says. “That’s one of the things that we’re attempting to do is have the pitfalls of time travel be long-lasting and that some things can be fixed, and then some things are broken forever.”

The Flash returns Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
