Aún así y aunque ya tenga los packs individuales, la quiero conseguir cuando se ponga a la venta.

Bueno, más datos...

Al parecer, la colección completa de Smallville no saldrá a la venta en Blue-Ray. Se preguntó al estudio del por qué de esta decisión, y han contestado que es por problemas técnicos con las perimeras temporadas:

"The special effects were created and output for standard definition broadcast using the tools and formats of that time. Elevating the special effects to an acceptable level for HD may require going back to original film elements and re-creating new special effects from scratch to marry with the film elements, which is extremely costly."

En resumen, que los efectos especiales de las primeras temporadas se hicieron con los medios que existían entonces y que el elevarlos a un nivel aceptable para HD sería algo extremadamente costoso de hacer, puesto que tendrían que hacerse de nuevo.

No obstante, a pesar de que la 5ª temporada se sacó en HD-DVD y sería posible sacarla en Blue-Ray, no hay planes tampoco para ello:

"Although the release of Season 5 on Blu-ray is technically possible, we do not have current plans to release Season 5 on BD."

En este momento no se sabe la fecha oficial de salida del pack completo, pero se supone que la 10ª sale en Noviembre (tanto en DVD como en Blue-Ray), así es que puede ser probable que el pack de las 10 temporadas salga también para las mismas fechas, aunque no hay aún nada oficial.

Uuuuf, pues menuda diferencia de precio si lo reservas en Amazon, sale a unos 150 euros, mucho mejor. Pero siendo la versión americana el formato que utilizan no es compatible con los reproductores de DVD de aquí ¿no?

Justo acabo de buscar sobre eso. Y encontre esto

The Complete Series will ONLY be for DVD format, and not on Blu-ray Disc. We asked for some in-depth information about why the studio would make that decision, and we were informed that there are technical issues present in the early seasons. Here's an exact quote from the studio:
"The special effects were created and output for standard definition broadcast using the tools and formats of that time. Elevating the special effects to an acceptable level for HD may require going back to original film elements and re-creating new special effects from scratch to marry with the film elements, which is extremely costly."
So, like other SFX-heavy series which were finished on videotape but not made-for-HD from the ground up (such as Star Trek: The Next Generation, The X-Files, Babylon 5, early seasons of Doctor Who, and others), the first few seasons of Smallville simply aren't up-to-snuff for high def Blu-ray Disc format without paying for a pricey special effects do-over. It's quite understandable that Warner wouldn't go back and do that just now, with the economy still not where everybody wants it to be.

Por lo que entiendo, el problema esta en los efectos especiales, que fueron hechos para SD con las herramientas de entonces, para que se vean bien en HD habria que volver a las cintas originales y volver a montar lo efectos especiales....vamos mucho trabajo y dinero (seria editar las primeras 4 temporadas completamente, ya que la 5 si salio en HD-DVD)
Pues que mal mal, puestos a comprarme peliculas y series preferiria hacerlo en Blu-Ray, y no me convence el hecho de comprar este pack completo de la serie sabiendo que la mitad de ella esta en Blu-Ray
