- Selina preparada para tomar grandes pasos hacia convertirse en la Catwoman de "Gotham" (CBR):
Selina preparada para tomar grandes pasos hacia convertirse en la Catwoman de "Gotham"
Por Scott Huver 03 Oct 2016

Not only is it becoming more dangerous for the denizens of “Gotham” to have future Catwoman Selina Kyle cross their paths, actress Camren Bicondova hints she’s also inching closer to becoming the feline-minded femme fatale of the comics.

As Selina continues to tread a dangerous line between supporting and selling out her new mentor, the freshly powered-up Fish Mooney, jealousy, betrayal and matters of the heart also threaten to complicate the increasingly teenage proto-villainess’ life, as the 17-year-old actress reveals to CBR.

On Selina’s reaction to Gotham’s transformation into this season’s titular “Mad City,” and the rise of monstrous, powered-up threats:

Camren Bicondova: She’s creeped out just as much as everyone else. I think she gets a firsthand experience with it, though because she’s working with Fish. And instead of Fish having an entourage of gangsters, she has her entourage of monsters, people who have been experimented on and have these really weird, futuristic abilities.

The fact that Selina gets a firsthand experience with that makes it even more creepy and scary for her, because she actually has to watch what she’s doing now… It definitely creeps her out as much as it does everyone else.

On Selina’s fragile alliance with Fish Mooney:

Selina actually loves it. Initially, Selina doesn’t know what’s going on with Fish – she just knows that he needs Selina’s help. It’s not until they almost get caught that Selina figures out that Fish also has one of these abilities, and that’s part of the reason why she has these monsters as part of her entourage.

I mean, I think it creeps Selina out, but I think Selina also thinks it’s cool because it’s almost like a mentor of hers is now even cooler than she was before. I don’t think that Selina minds it, because it’s not a dangerous power – just like all her other monsters that’s part of the group. It’s more of an enhancement than a danger.

On where Selina is in terms of becoming closer to the Catwoman fans know and love:

She’s been taking baby steps. I think this season she’s going to be taking bigger steps. But I don’t think she’s going to get there yet. She’s definitely going into a darker path this season, and I’m really excited.

On Selina’s relationship with Ivy after Ivy’s startling blossoming into an adult:

Initially, Selina doesn’t know that it’s Ivy Pepper that she’s known this whole time. She just thinks that it’s this new girl who happens to be really beautiful: just this new girl on the block, I guess.

Once she finds out that it is her friend that she’s known, I think she’s going to be hurt. I think it’s going to be very much a feeling of betrayal and dishonesty. Selina isn’t one for either of those things, because she’s very loyal to her people that she connects with. So it’s not going to be good.

On how a fractured relationship between Selina and Ivy pertains to Bruce Wayne:

I think the only reason Ivy comes between Bruce and Selina would be out of jealously to kind of get under Selina’s skin. I think that’s what I get from it, but I don’t know exactly what happens – but I think Ivy’s definitely going to shake some things up this season!

Starring Ben McKenzie as Detective Jim Gordon, “Gotham” airs Mondays at 8 pm ET/PT on Fox. The series also stars David Mazouz as young Bruce Wayne, Camren Bicondova as young Selina Kyle, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, Morena Baccarin as Leslie Thompkins, Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney and more.

- NYCC: Robin Lord Taylor & Más llevan "Gotham" a New York (cbr):
NYCC: Robin Lord Taylor & Más llevan "Gotham" a New York
Por Meagan Damore 08 Oct 2016

On Saturday morning, a little bit of “Gotham” showed up in the Big Apple. Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald Cobblepot) and David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne) showed up at New York Comic Con to take fans behind the scenes of the Fox series, which charts the rise of the villains in Gotham as a young Bruce Wayne embarks on his journey to becoming Batman.

Asked if Cobblepot will try to present himself in a different way, Taylor said, “I’m if anyone does some deep cuts and looks at the images that come out, he does have a little bit of a makeover… he tries to represent himself the way he thinks a candidate should look… Our show is like any comic book, in that our stories are written to reflect the times we live… the comic books are written with that idea in mind, the social climate, and our show is reflecting that. When Gotham starts to look the the real world…”

“We were doing a panel and it was either New York or San Diego… and someone came up and asked, ‘Who is the biggest villain in Gotham City?’ And I was like, ‘Donald Trump,'” Taylor recalled. “That was a year ago, before all of this… and then one of the writers said, ‘When you said that, we were somewhat inspired by you saying that.'”

Mazouz also addressed Bruce Wayne’s doppelganger. “He was born in a lab and he comes out and he sees this kid who looks exactly like him and he sees him with all this stuff — he’s never had a human relationship,” he explained. “And [he sees Bruce’s relationship with Alfred and Selena] and says, ‘I want that.”

“You know, Bruce doesn’t have the balls to say it, but he likes Selena! He’s been trying to find a way to make something happen and is just like, ‘If you’re not going to do it, I will’… you’ll definitely see a jealous conflict between the two,” he continued.

As to the partnership between Edward Nigma and Cobblepot, Taylor shared, “I really don’t think so. I think Edward makes Oswald a stronger person. Edward is very intellectual, he’s very pragmatic. We’ve talked about how Edward is in his head; Oswald is in his heart. There’s not much to teach Edward about feelings… Edward is there to help Oswald be confident… I think it is kind of one-sided. Oswald does do some major favors [for Edward].”

Erin Richards, who plays Barbara Kean, then entered the stage to a round of applause, apologizing and explaining that she had been caught in New York traffic.

“She’s got some very high hopes,” Kean said of her character. “I think she’s at a point where she has all this sort of newfound power with this Sirens club… I think that she’s now seeing the rise of herself, and that’s what she’s aiming for.”

“The fun of her is that you don’t [know when she’s going to snap],” she added. “She has so many different parts of her personality that she can play at any one time… when is she going to flirty Barbara? When is she going to be killer Barbara?”

“The story of Oswald is the story of someone who is always cast aside and treated as less than human, never respected. When you saw him come out of Arkham as this changed person, that’s really who is under all that scar tissue and believing all those things people told him,” Taylor explained. “He really wants the adoration of people. After he was brainwashed in Season 2, he snaps after his father’s murder and he does something horrible… I wanted to have it so he remembered what it was like to be kind and generous… I wanted to keep that incorporated into [his character]… I think that’s really who he is… Once he gets it, he doesn’t know what to do with it. He isn’t as well-adjusted. He is ultimately still in love with power.”

As to Barbara’s relationship with Tabitha, Richards said, “Barbara is a very kind of modern woman in that respect, in that she’s not going to try to tie Tabitha to herself. She’s going to let Tabitha be herself… she doesn’t want to hold anyone back from what they want to do.”

“[Barbara] is the face of the Sirens, but Tabitha is the muscle,” she continued. “For her, if she doesn’t have that muscle behind her, she’s in danger… she doesn’t have the skills Tabitha does.”

In response to a fan question, Taylor addressed the way Penguin has evolved over the series, saying, “In terms of Penguin, it’s really the writing. They’ve captured his voice so well, and it’s really the word choice. It’s very, very specific.”

Asked if Penguin actually likes penguins, he shared, “It’s hard because I don’t think he does. That’s what he was taunted with his whole life. I don’t think he has any particular affection for them, [but] he has power in embracing it.”

“When we found the Wayne cave, I got a heads up, but for this, I didn’t,” Mazouz said, recalling how he found out about Bruce’s doppelganger. “It was tough, but with the help with the directors and writers… I did it, and I think it turned out really great.”

“I can’t say yes or no,” Mazouz shared when asked if Bruce’s doppelganger has anything to do with “Hush” or Lincoln March. “What I will say is this Bruce was not completely somebody from the comics, but it’s kind of a mix of ‘Gotham’ originality and a mix of those theories I just mentioned.”

“Paul [Reubens] is a delight… I actually met him before I was cast. He was best friends with Carol Kane, who played my mom. Carol invited me to lunch and said, ‘My friend Paul is coming’… we had a whole joke about how he should play my dad,” Taylor recalled, then added that he sent a photo of them together to an executive producer, who then said they’d been trying to sign him for the show for three weeks.

Another fan asked if the Joker was still a player in the show. “When all the monsters were leaving at the end of the season, I thought I heard a laugh,” Mazouz teased.

“It’s been announced! He’s coming back,” Taylor added. “We are all over the moon about it… we’re so happy to have him back.”

Mazouz then brought his pet dog on stage in order to show off her Robin costume, then let her sit beside him as he continued to answer questions.

Taylor announced that, in an upcoming episode, he and Mazouz would share lines for the first time in the history of the show.

“I love having scenes with [Erin Richards],” Taylor shared. “It’s always fun when we interact.”

“Robin and I never actually talked to each other ever,” Mazouz recounted. “We did this cool thing where Bruce goes into some door and behind him Penguin walked into the same shot, but we never actually talked, so it doesn’t count!”

“Right now I’m shooting some with our new Poison Ivy,” he added. “I always like working with new characters.”

“I think for inspiration for my character… was Christian Bale,” he revealed. “He really brought the intensity and darkness to Batman and Bruce Wayne that we try to do on ‘Gotham.'”

NYCC: Gotham Panel Live Updates
Por Dallas Jackson 08/10/2016

ComicBook.com is live at the New York Comic Con event spread between the Javits Center, Madison Square Garden, and the Hammerstein Ball Room. The four-day event will cover topics from Nickelodeon to Netflix and everywhere in between with live panels, celebrity interviews, breaking news and more.

Follow all the action on social media via Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

*** 11:30 a.m. ET Gotham Live Panel Discussion will have updates located below ***

11:25 ... room is filling up. "Reserved seats" still have a few spots. The floor is full and people are filing into the top balcony on both sides. Pretty lively crowd, too.

11:29 ... moderator takes the floor. Keeps momentum going. Introducing the panel: David Mazouz -- he yells, "Whats up New York..." next up, Robin Lord Taylor.... "Oswald for President" yelled from the crowd... Robin says, "At this point... Penguin looks pretty freaking good for that office. The Gotham writers may be writing a better reality than we are faced with."

Moderator: "How does Penguin present himself in the public arena?:

RLT: "If anyone does some deep cuts, you will see that Penguin gets a little make over. He tries to present himself as he thinks a candidate should look and there is a certain omage to a certain candidate out there and it is entirely intentional. Our story is like any comic book and it is designed to look like the world we live in. Comics are written with the social climate in mind and our show is reflecting that. But, seriously, when Gotham starts to look like a documentary it is somewhat scary."

Mod: "Has this story been in the works or is this just reflective of the time?"

RLT: "We were doing a panel and someone asked, who is the biggest villain in Gotham City and I said Donald Trump... but this was like a year ago before all of this. And so from there one of hte writers said that they were somewhat inspired by that and that going forward with what Penguin went through so he has to make a move to legitimize himself in Season 3 and what better way to run for mayor."

Mod: "Do you think there is a part of Bruce that envies the 'clone'"

DM: "Yes, there is an envious feeling for both. The clone we still dont know much about him, he was born in a lab and he sees a kid looking exactly like him with all that stuff. All he knows is lab coats and experiments and now he sees Alfred, Selina, and a big house and he wants that. So I think this 'clone' is going to teach Bruce to use the things around him and I think Bruce is going to teach the clone... well, you'll see."

Mod: "Will the clone get in trouble or create some drama between Bruce, himself, and Selina?"

DM: "There will be a jealous conflict in the next episode. For two years Bruce has wanted to do more with Selina but hasnt had the balls to make a move and make it happen. The clone isn't as incumbered by that. So we see he took the car and he may be going to make that move."

Mod: "How many of you enjoy the Oswald ... Edward relationship?" (loud cheers)

"Does Oswald make Edward stronger or vise versa"

RLT: "I don't think so. I think Edward makes Oswald a stronger person. Edward is very intellectual and pragmatic. Edward is in his head and Oswald is in his heart. You arent going to teach Ed about feelings and that isnt what Oswald is there for. But Edward can teach Oswald to be more organized and ..."

STABBY BABS WALKS IN... to a major ovation...

RLT: "Edward helps Oswald more than Oswald helps Edward"

Mod: "I have enjoyed Barbara evolution. Is it more than Sirens, does she want to be her own kingpin."

ER: "She has such high hopes for her and Tabitha. She has this new found power with Sirens and Penguin in the underworld. So she is seeing the rise within herself. So it is fun to me to play this character. When is she going to be serious Barabara. Or flirty Barbara.... all ofthose things, I just let them happen."

Mod: "Could the clone be a better Bruce than Bruce? I mean his dressing up and all that..."

DM: "Better Bruce? What does that mean... better at what. He can be anything he wants to be."

"The deal that Alfred and Bruce made in Season 2 is that he would do what Alfred said and he ran away. So, I think I know where you are going and I am not going to answer though."\

Mod: "Do you think the Penguin really wants to go legit? It seemed like OSwarld really wanted to be a better man."

RLT: "Absoltely. the Story of Oswald is the story of someone who has always been cast aside and been treated less than human. When you saw him come out of Arkham as a changed person that is really who he is underneath this scar tissue. Goign forward into the election he really does want the adoration and respect of the people, of everyone.

"After he was brainwashed in Season 2 he then snaps after his father was murdered and I didnt want him to snap back into being the old Penguin. So I wanted to keep the new Penguin as part of what he is going to be doing going forward. It is ultimately harmful for him, but he really truly wants adoration. Once he does get it, I dont think he is going to know what to do with it. He is ultimately in love with power but I think he wants the love and respect."

Mod: "Babs is a woman who turns her sexuality to gain power and turn the world on its head. Her relationship with Tabitha and Butch and the whole situation...."

ER: "Barbara is a modern woman in that respect, she isnt trying Tabitha to herself. If Tabitha wants to go off and be with Butch that is okay. Barbara isnt going to try and hold anyone back so she can let anyone go.

"The thing about Tabitha is that Babs needs her cause she is crazy. She is the face of the Sirens but Tabitha is the muscle. Later in the season there is a risk that she is going to lose Tabitha and so Barbara goes all guns blazing to get her back."

Mod: "What is your favorite thing to play with or hang out on set..."

ER: "Absenth at the end of the bar, so a few sips of that... in season one in Barbara apartment we used real picture of my grandparents wedding so it was so beautiful to have them with me."

RLT: "GCPD is my favorite place to hang out. And when Oswald is in GCPD you know something is going down."

DM: "The kitchen set which is new for Season 3. In Season 1, it felt like Bruce and Alfred were trapped in one room of a mansion for eight straight episodes. So I am really excited to have a conservatory and a kitchen in this season."

ER: "In season 2 right next to GCPD is Nygma's old apartment so when I was just off not working i would go sit in there. So when I went to the set this year, I opened hte doors looking for it and it has been replaced and there is something new there."

11:57 ... Questions to the crowd.

NIKKI from NYC: "Penguin has gone through so may transformations, how do you keep each with all of them. And Barbara, we have a theory that she didnt really kill her parents just went crazy."

RLT: "It is in the writing. They captured his voice so well, so it is the word choice and specifics. I give all credit to them for that. They are consistent. Ive never a series regular before so I came in with my choices for it and they ran with it, and so they are writing for me and for him."

ER: "I was talking that Barbara never killed anyone before except the parents, and we never saw that on scene. So if we are happening to hope for a rekindling between Jim and Barbara then maybe that is an interesting twist that all she has done is gone crazy and beat people up and maybe that killing was something else."

ROB from NYC: "How much were you able to raise for charity at your FanFest event?"

RLT: "One of the founders of FanFest is from Orlando. We did a one-day charity event and raised just over $250,000 in one day for the victims of the Pulse massacre."

"I lived in NYC during 9/11 and have been here for 16 years and it is my home and the people are the best. So it felt like that in Orlando. Like something really terrible happened. Like Mr. Rogers said, you look for the helpers. So being alive, being a human, that sadly it takes something really awful or really tragic to bring people together to help inspire healing. So all my love to the Orlando community."

12:02 ...

STEVEN... "Does your character like Penguins... Have you been able to embrace your doppleganger."

RLT: "Hard because, I dont think he does. He was taunted with it his whole life so there isnt any particular affection for them. He embraces his most power from embracing what has tourtured him for so long. If he can own it then it cant hurt him, but his house doesnt have 'Happy Feet' posters.

DM: "I was scared when I first read that script. I thought, what just happened, and I got it and there wasnt a warning. At the end of season one they told me I would find the Wayne Cave, but there was no warning on this one. I read it and found out that I would have to play a doppleganger. I think it turned out really great with the help of a lot of other people.:"

LADY from Arizona. Makes GREAT Grandmom joke... then, "Robin, I hated dying my hair and hated going from blonde to dark and I know you are a blonde. How much do you hate this process."

RLT: "Luckily I am going the other direction. Every two weeks or so they slap this stuff on to over my roots."

GUY from Harlem... "David with the new other you, are we going to get in touch with the HUSH storyline."

DM: "I cant say yes or no, but i can say the HUSH theory has been connecting those two things, and what I will say, is taht this Bruce was not completely somebody from the comics but is ia mix of Gotham originiality and maybe a mix of other theories."

GUY again... "Oliver Queen crossover?"

DM: "We would all love it, but it isnt our call. I think it would be great. Any crossover -- now that hte Flash can time travel -- I wouldnt mind it."

BRANDON from Staten Island... "Compliments RLT (applause) ... How was your Paul Reubens expierence?"

RLT: "Paul is a delight a real genius. He is best friends with Carol that played my mom and so before he was cast I knew him. And it started as a goof that he should play my dad and we took a picture at a lunch with Carol and the producers said that they had been trying to get ahold of him for weeks. He is not Pee-Wee that is another whole thing. He is brilliant.

"So that scene were Paul died, my actual dad died and we kept shooting that day anyways. So I was acting my actual reality. So production asked what I wanted to do and it was Paul's last day. My mom was with my sister and I couldnt make it to Iowa, and it was a strange confluence of events where your reality is what your character is going through. There were some scenes that was actually happening in my real life. It was my favorite and will always be my favorite episode. Although I will never watch it."

JOSE from NY: "Hugo Strange was doing a reincarnation, but is there a Joker coming into play..."

DM: "Funny you mention that, because as the characters left in Season 2 I thought I heard a laugh.

RLT: "It is announced, he is coming back. Jerome will be back."

12:17 ...

DAVID MAZOUZ BRINGS OUT HIS DOG AND PUTS THE PANEL IN A TAILSPIN...

RLT: "After three seasons, there is a show coming up that me and David actually speak to each other.

QUESTION: "WHo do you like interacting with the most?"

ER: "Barbara is going to have some scenes with Nygma soon. I think Corey is nailing it this season and I am really excited to get in there with him."

RLT: "First I love working with this one (ER) because we have such a strong link to Jim Gordon so it is fun when we interact. And so now I have more interatcion with the future Batman is coming."

DM: "I would read a script looking for me and Penguin in the same scene and it never happened. I have had two scenes with Erin and one with Cory, and I havent had one with Robin and so that is going to happen. I am shooting some stuff with our new Poison Ivy and I am really excited for oyu guys to see that."

QUESTION... "Can you do the waddle?"

RLT: "No, not right now. Most people that see it are a little disappointed. I moved from a bottlecap to two quarters in my right shoe. I dont use the tack anymore to do the waddle. But I dont have the full costume on so it is a little bit of a downer."

QUESTION... "What Batman do you look to for inspiration?"

DM: "Batfleck wasnt around when we started so I looked to Christian Bale the most. He brought the most darkness."

Robin Lord Taylor (Penguin), David Mazouz (Bruce), and Erin Richards (Barbara) represented Gotham at this year's New York Comic Con, teasing a few developments about the upcoming season, giving some behind-the-scenes tidbits, and — in some cases — bringing out their adorable dogs...

Dogs aside, here are five things we learned about Gotham at NYCC...

On the possibility of an Arrow-verse crossover...

Guys, there probably won't be a Gotham/Arrow crossover anytime soon... or possibly ever, but that didn't stop the NYCC crowd from asking about it (bless them) and that didn't stop the Gotham cast from commenting (bless them, also).

David Mazouz in particular seemed open to the idea, saying: "Now that The Flash can time travel, I wouldn't mind if Grant Gustin ran a little bit back in time and ended up in the GCPD." Get on it, CW/Fox.

On the possible Doppel-Bruce/Hush potential...

Mazouz said that he's heard fan theories about Doppel-Bruce being Hush/Lincoln March/Thomas Wayne Jr., though the actor couldn't say anything definitive about the comic book inspiration behind the role, Mazouz did tease: "This Bruce is not completely somebody from the comic books, but it's kind of a mix of Gotham originality and maybe one or two of those theories that I just mentioned." Do with this information what you will.

On the return of the Joker...

The best part of listening to the Gotham cast is in those moments when they geek out about the show, too. When asked about the possibility of the Joker returning, Mazouz said: "When all the monsters were leaving at the end of the season, I thought I heard a laugh."

It has been confirmed that Jerome will be back (though probably not in season three). Speaking about it, Taylor said: "There's no question. I am over the moon about it. [Cameron Monaghan] is an amazing, amazing actor. We're so happy to have him back."

Bruce has upcoming scenes with Penguin and Poison Ivy.

It was fun to have both Mazouz and Taylor there because they got to tease an upcoming (speaking!) scene between their two characters — something that has yet to happen before on the show. Yes, Penguin and Bruce will have their first conversation in the history of the show this season. Start the speculation now.

Talking about a previous season one scene the two did have together (one in which they didn't talk or interact), Mazouz said: "I remember thinking that's the first time I've seen him waddle in person."

Mazouz also teased that he will have some upcoming scenes with the new Poison Ivy (Maggie Geha), which makes sense given Ivy's connection to Selina and Selina's connection to Bruce. We've also seen Ivy and Bruce interacting previously. What will their relationship look like now that Ivy has grown up overnight? I'm afraid to ask.

Barbara and Ed have stuff coming up.

In other intriguing character dynamic news, Richards teased that Barbara and Ed will have some scenes together coming up. Might Ed come to work at The Sirens? (That would be an odd fit, but stranger things have happened.) Will Ed's relationship with Oswald somehow have him interacting with Barbara? On this show, the sky's the limit.

Gotham: Erin Richards habla sobre la evolución de Barbara
Por Jay Jayson 08/10/2016

When we were first introduced to Barbara Kean in Gotham, she was simply a wealthy art gallery owner and the fiancée of Jim Gordon, a young and naive cop hell bent on cleaning up the corrupt city. But as he began to bend (and sometimes break) his moral code, the ugly-side of Gotham began invading her cushy life and Gordon stopped opening up to her about it, so she left him, began abusing drugs and alcohol again, and slept with her ex-girlfriend Renee Montoya. And then came her descent into madness. After the Ogre abducted her, she became mentally unstable and killed her frigid parents. Then, she tried to kill Dr. Leslie "Lee" Thompkins, Gordon's new girlfriend at the time, and was sent to Arkham Asylum.

And all of that was just in the first season. In second season, Babs went full-on crazy, joining up with Theo Galavan and his sister Tabitha, who became her new lover. And while she carried out Theo's plans, deep-down all she wanted to do is dangerously toy with Gordon and Lee ... which she did.

Now in Season 3, Babs is doing a better job of hiding her nutty side, though it's very much still there. She's running Gotham's hot new club (called Sirens) with Tabitha. But does want to be more than just a nightclub owner? Perhaps, Gotham's next fearsome crime boss?

"She has such high hopes for her and Tabitha. She has this new found power with Sirens and Penguin in the underworld," Erin Richards said today, during the Gotham panel at New York Comic Con. "So she is seeing the rise within herself. So it is fun to me to play this character. When is she going to be serious Barabara. Or flirty Barbara.... all of those things, I just let them happen."

And she teased how the Tabitha-Butch relationship have an effect on her storyline. "Barbara is a modern woman in that respect; she isnt tying Tabitha to herself," she offered. "If Tabitha wants to go off and be with Butch that is okay. Barbara isnt going to try and hold anyone back so she can let anyone go. "The thing about Tabitha is that Babs needs her 'cause she is crazy. She is the face of the Sirens but Tabitha is the muscle. Later in the season there is a risk that she is going to lose Tabitha and so Barbara goes all guns blazing to get her back."

Each season of Gotham, multiple story arcs are going on at the same time, providing plenty of opportunities for the large and talented cast to interact with each other.

Today at New York Comic Con, during the Gotham panel, Erin Richards, Robin Lord Taylor, and David Mazouz were asked: "Who do you like interacting with the most?"

"Barbara is going to have some scenes with Nygma soon," Richards answered. "I think Cory [Michael Smith] is nailing it this season and I am really excited to get in there with him."

Taylor responded: "First, I love working with this one (pointing to Richards) because we have such a strong link to Jim Gordon, so it is fun when we interact. And so now I have more interaction with the future Batman."

Mazouz replied: "I would read a script looking for me and Penguin in the same scene and it never happened. I have had two scenes with Erin and one with Cory, and I havent had one with Robin and so that is going to happen. I am shooting some stuff with our new Poison Ivy and I am really excited for you guys to see that."

In last episode of Gotham, we got to know more about the Indian Hill escapee that happens to be Bruce Wayne's doppelgänger. He's incredibly strong and his tolerance to pain is off the charts. And while appeared innocent at first, it was a bit chilling to see him mimick Bruce's voice and hairstyle.

Today, during the Gotham panel at New York Comic Con, David Mazouz, the actor who plays the dual role, believes Bruce and Dopple-Bruce are mutually envious.

"Yes, there is an envious feeling for both," Mazouz shared. "The clone we still dont know much about him; he was born in a lab and he sees a kid looking exactly like him with all that stuff. All he knows is lab coats and experiments and now he sees Alfred, Selina, and a big house and he wants that. So I think this 'clone' is going to teach Bruce to use the things around him and I think Bruce is going to teach the clone... well, you'll see."

At the very end of the last episode, when Dopple-Bruce left Wayne Manor by stealing one of Bruce's luxury vehicles, he wore Bruce's clothes and met up with Selina, pretending to be Bruce. Mazouz revealed that Dopple-Bruce's interest in Selina will cause a conflict between the real Bruce and his clone.

"There will be a jealous conflict in the next episode," he shared. "For two years Bruce has wanted to do more with Selina but hasnt had the balls to make a move and make it happen. The clone isn't as incumbered by that. So we see he took the car and he may be going to make that move."

- Robin Lord Taylor dice que el Pingüino puede ser el mejor candidato presidencial (comicbook):
Robin Lord Taylor dice que el Pingüino puede ser el mejor candidato presidencial
Por Jay Jayson 08/10/16

This November, Americans will have to decide from a field of Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, Gary Johnson, and Dr. Jill Stein as to who is best suited to be the next President of the United States. Since none of the four candidates looks like the next Abraham Lincoln or Teddy Roosevelt, voters haven't been all that excited about casting their vote on Election Day.

Today, during the Gotham panel at New York Comic Con, one potential voter suggested Penguin should have more ambitious goals than becoming the next mayor of Gotham. "Oswald for President!" shouted a person from the crowd, after Robin Lord Taylor was introduced by the panel's moderator.

"At this point... Penguin looks pretty freaking good for that office," Taylor responded to the boisterous fan. "The Gotham writers may be writing a better reality than we are faced with."

Once that was out of the way, the moderator turned his attention to Penguin's mayoral campaign, asking Taylor: "How does Penguin present himself in the public arena?"

"If anyone does some deep cuts, you will see that Penguin gets a little makeover," Taylor said. "He tries to present himself as he thinks a candidate should look and there is a certain omage to a certain candidate out there and it is entirely intentional. Our story is like any comic book and it is designed to look like the world we live in. Comics are written with the social climate in mind and our show is reflecting that. But, seriously, when Gotham starts to look like a documentary it is somewhat scary."

The moderator then followed-up with: "Has this story been in the works or is this just reflective of the time?"

"We were doing a panel and someone asked, who is the biggest villain in Gotham City and I said Donald Trump... but this was like a year ago before all of this," Taylor shared. "And so from there one of the writers said that they were somewhat inspired by that and that going forward with what Penguin went through so he has to make a move to legitimize himself in Season 3 and what better way to run for mayor."

- Erin Richards se pregunta si Barbara realmente mató a sus padres (comicbook):
Erin Richards se pregunta si Barbara realmente mató a sus padres
Por Megan Peters 09/10/2016

It’s been a busy weekend for comic book geeks. New York Comic Con kicked off last Thursday and brought with it dozens of announcements and teasers. Gotham was one of many shows that riled fans at their exclusive NYCC panel, and its cast members definitely didn’t leave their audience hanging. The show’s stars talked Season 2, character transformations, and even questioned whether Barbara really did kill her parents last season.

Erin Richards, the actress who plays Barbara, joined the Gotham panel to thunderous applause. The whacked-out villain took time to talk about Barbara’s future with Tabitha and the Sirens, but she also teased fans about one of the character’s shocking deeds by questioning whether Barbara really did kill her parents.

During the panel, Richards was asked about a popular fan theory that alleges Barbara’s innocence. Rather than having killed her parents, fans believe the character went crazy instead and prompted her captor The Ogre to off Barbara’s mom and dad. Richards commented on the theory, saying, “We never saw that [the deaths] on scene.”

“If we are happening to hope for a rekindling between Jim and Barbara then maybe that is an interesting twist,” she said. Richards continued, wondering aloud whether Barbara simply went “crazy and beat people up.”

The actress finished her thoughts by saying, “Maybe that killing was something else.” As for what that ‘something else’ might be, fans can’t be sure.

If you don’t remember what all led to the supposed death of Barbara’s parents, the sequence of events are fairly complex. The murders went down last season after a fragile Barbara was kidnapped by a serial killer known as The Ogre. The brute brought Barbara to her parents, telling her to choose who’s life will be taken: hers or theirs. Barbara, who resented her parents, apparently chose to kill her parents as she confesses to Dr. Leslie Thompkins that she chose to kill her parents outside of the Ogre’s doing. The admission came shortly before Barbara tried to kill the doctor herself with a knife and was taken down none too gently.

If Barbara really did kill her parents, it wouldn’t be completely unbelievable. The character felt tense around her mother and father after moving back in with them, and Barbara’s mental state plummeted during Season 1 of Gotham. The former addict was thrust into a very unstable world of crime because of her relationship with Jim Gordon, a reality that ultimately put her in contact with The Ogre.
gotham-barbara

There are plenty of fans who are unhappy with Barbara’s violent characterization. After all, the Batman canon often finds Barbara married to Jim Gordon in the comics and even has children with him before they eventually divorce. Gotham seems like it is doing its best to revise the character’s origin, leaving fans to wonder how Barbara will return to Jim’s good graces if at all.

And, what’s more, plenty of fans have signaled their displeasure with Barbara’s sudden psychotic nature. For them, ‘Stabby Babs’ doesn’t equate to interesting or even logical character development.

However, Richards seems confident in Barbara’s future. The actress described her role as that of a “modern women” who now fronts a seedy bar called Sirens in Gotham. Season 2 will follow Barbara and her partner Tabitha as they make a name for themselves amongst the city’s criminal underbelly and transform ‘Stabby Babs’ into a genuine threat.

Gotham airs on Mondays 8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

There's a new mayor in Gotham City, and the splashes this Penguin makes are sure to cause ripples for all citizens of the future home of Batman. But how will Oswald Copplebot's new office in City Hall -- and grip on unprecedented power for this former umbrella boy as revealed in Monday's episode, "New Day Rising" -- specifically impact everyone we know, love, hate, love to hate, and hate to love in this troubled city?

Well, don't let me answer that question for you. Instead, let's let Gotham's famous residents fill you in. I traveled to the real Gotham City, the set of the Fox show in Brooklyn, New York, to hear what many of the series actors have to say about Mayor Penguin's new gig, and how their characters will react to the new boss.

Check out the responses below, and seriously, don't miss the next episode of Gotham, "Anything for You," Monday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.

Robin Lord Taylor
(“Oswald Cobblepot”/ “Penguin”)

Oswald is someone who comes to power through manipulation, and manipulation of people’s fears. Having these monsters led by Fish Mooney, he uses that to stoke the fears of people of Gotham City so much to the point that they actually elect him by popular vote to become mayor. It is something continuing with themes of comic books since the beginning – Superman, Captain America and many others came from a place out of something happening in society at that moment, a world event or a national event.

What we’re seeing here is a reflection of what’s happening now, and someone who has no political office, has shady business dealings, is a master manipulator of everyone around him. Now, having gotten a little older and experience in power, he has the ability to manipulate not just his cohorts but the world he lives in. Also, he is becoming aware of his image, and is manipulating his image as well.

The fact he is all of those things, and can be elected by popular vote, based on a platform built on fear, fear of the other, fear of the strange, it is something we see in the world right now. I don’t want to say his name, but the comparison is there. It makes our show more relevant than it has ever been. When Gotham City starts to reflect the world we live in, it’s really f---ing scary.

Ben McKenzie
(“Jim Gordon”)

At this point, Jim has other fish to fry. He’s not even focused on that, at the moment. I’m sure that will change. One of the things he realizes after the crime families ceased their reign on Gotham, it created a power vacuum that resulted in the anarchy that’s now manifest. There is the devil you know, and the devil you don’t. The devil you know can actually be a benefit.

In a weird way – I don’t think he’s pleased – but he’s far past the point of railing against Oswald for suddenly finding himself in the mayorship. He is sort of more resigned to it. And quite frankly, he and Oswald have a relationship now that is sometimes antagonistic, and sometimes friendship. Perhaps he’s gotten some leverage.

David Mazouz
(“Bruce Wayne”)

With Oswald, he does not think it is a good thing for the city, but I don’t think he is in the mindset to fight it and make it right. He just thinks, “Well, that’s Gotham.”

Cory Michael Smith
(“Edward Nygma”)

Edward can be very helpful to Penguin. I think I understand how he operates. He is always a little surprising and volatile, however, I know the things that make him tick. I know where his loyalties lie. I know he is loyal, mostly. I know what gets him angry, and he’s not trusting; he needs to see something to believe it, so all of these things I am aware of, and can be very helpful to him. I understand him way more than he understands me.

Donal Logue
(“Harvey Bullock”)

Harvey’s run around this town for so long nothing shakes him, in a way. He doesn’t like Penguin, doesn’t like Nygma, and doesn’t like this situation, and their potential smugness. But I think he’s so many changes, I feel confident he believes things can change, and will change. He’s seen so many people just get knocked off pedestals of power it’s nothing new, in a way.

Drew Powell
(“Butch Gilzean”)

Enter Ed Nygma. There’s a weird triangle that happens between him, Butch, and Penguin, and the power struggle is really interesting. I think the fans are really going to dig it, and I’ve had so much fun playing it. In a weird way, Butch and Penguin work. Nygma and Butch are absolute chalk and cheese. They are oil and water; it is not a good combo, and they are polar opposites in the villainous world. Butch is loyal, and tough, and strong physically. Nygma is not loyal, and all about using his brain, not his brawn. I hadn’t worked with Cory at all until this season, and it’s been great fun.

But the struggle is who is going to be the right hand [to Mayor Penguin]. This little, as Butch calls him, “pencilneck,” shows up and starts to crowd him out. That’s where a lot of the conflict lies, and I think that’s only going to escalate as the season progresses.

Erin Richards
(“Barbara Kean”)

Barbara’s skill is that she can use everybody at the right times, and she’s very adaptable. So, her and Penguin have had a good relationship up until now. She’s understood he’s powerful, so she’s wanted his help, but at the same time, she considers herself an emerging power in Gotham. So she wants to think of herself as kind of on a level with him now. I think you see that dynamic develop where she is kind of saying, especially at the start of the season, “You can’t boss us around; we’re the Sirens.” And we’re going to establish ourselves, and establish this playing field. At the same time, he’s mayor now, and she understands she needs to feed off this power, and use him as a stepping stone as she always does.

Michael Chiklis
("Nathaniel Barnes")

You saw the portrait [in GCPD]? F---ing classic! Greatest thing ever ... Barnes is completely and utterly frustrated, and dismayed, and ineffectual [by Penguin as mayor]. He is going to take a lot into his own hands. Or he's going to try to. The interesting dichotomy is, in his zeal to maintain law and order, he just might lose sight of law and order himself.

Jessica Lucas
(“Tabitha Galavan”)

Penguin still has a hit on Tabitha’s life because she killed his mother, so he’s looking to get revenge on her. The only reason she’s alive is because Butch is keeping her alive. We are at odds, and she is not on board with supporting him in any way. She’s not really going to try to take him out, but negotiate for her life, and using any means necessary to do that. She doesn’t want to incur his wrath any more than she already has. She’s not against him, but trying to reconcile, or at least get to a place where they can at least get along.
