Entre las nuevas pistas que la revista nos ofrece y que publicará su edición completa mañana, nos cuentan que n el crossover veremos volar a 'Supergirl', a 'The Flash' y 'Cisco' abrir (o intentar abrir) un agujero en la tela del espacio-tiempo, y que alguien (que no dicen) será disparado. Reafirman lo que ya sabemos: que los causantes del crossover serán 'The Dominators', aunque dejan abierta la posibilidad de si éstos controlarán la mente de nuestros superhéroes hasta el punto de hacer que luchen entre ellos.

El “Arrowverse” también tiene otro apodo, el “Berlantiverse,” por el super-productor que preside ese universo, que tiene su propia opinión sobre el término: “Me opongo, para ser sincero. Hay mucha gente que también son parte de esto. Además, nunca quieres que algo que puede molestar o enfadar a la gente sea llamado con tu nombre.”

“Estas series tienen que trabajar en múltiples niveles. Quieres que sean divertidas y agradables. - La CW amplía los episodios de la S2 de "Legends Of Tomorrow":

La CW ha ordenado 4 episodios adicionales para la S2 de “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” elevando la temporada a un total de 17 episodios, en lugar de los 13 iniciales.

Así, la serie de DC Comics de la mano de Greg Berlanti, se une a la muy apretada agenda de la CW. Quizá, la decisión se deba a que la serie ha más que doblado los rátings de las nuevas series de otoño "No Tomorrow" y "Frequency", sobre las que la cadena aún no ha tomado ninguna decisión.

Así “Legends”, aunque detrás en números de "Arrow", "The Flash" y "Supergirl", está consiguiendo una media de casi 2.4 millones de espectadores y un ráting de 0.9 rating in en la demo 18-49 en su segunda temporada, incluyendo el DVR. La serie ha mejorado la franja de la cadena del pasado otoño, ocupada anteriormente por “The Vampire Diaries,” en un 13% entre adultos 18-49 y con un 35% en espectadores totales.

Tonight's new episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, "Compromised," takes the team to 1987 as they battle Damien Darhk and protect President Ronald Reagan. Fortunately, they'll have a ally in that fight, and one viewers have met before this season. Justice Society of America member Obsidian is returning in this episode, albeit in a much older form. And this time he'll be played by geek legend Lance Henriksen (Aliens).

We recently had the chance to chat with Henriksen about his guest appearance. He hinted at what's to come for Obsidian as he encounters the Legends once more and reunites with his old teammate, Vixen. Henriksen also teased that viewers might learn a bit more about Obsidian's father, Green Lantern Alan Scott. Scroll down to find out what he had to say.

IGN: I'm glad we have a chance to talk about the new episode. I'm excited to see what you guys have in store with this one.

Henriksen: I've got to say, I think they're very, very clever, the writers on that show, especially the one that I did. I play a superhero, Obsidian, who's the son of Green Lantern. I always read comics. I never thought I'd be in one. So it's pretty cool. It's very cool.

IGN: Were you familiar with the character before you were cast in the role?

Henriksen: Not really, no. And then, of course, what I do every time I work is I go and research to see what the story is and what's behind it. And they were very gracious about it. The whole company has good writers. Very good.

I've been really busy. I've got a couple of films coming out, one of which is After the Sun Fell. It was a Broadway show that they made into a film, and it's a comedy. I've been getting all kids of different work. I've got one coming out that I'm the lead in, a Western called Gone Are the Days. I've just been really working all the time. And it's a great feeling. I have nothing but gratitude. It's a good deal.

IGN: Obsidian is a complex and kind of a psychologically troubled character. How much of this episode is going to delve into his past and what happened during those 40 years since we saw him last?

Henriksen: Oh yeah, they do. They do. The thing is, time forces you into transition and something else. He went from being very dark to coming into the light. And the time travel aspect of this is really amazing. The way they're handling it, it's not trite at all. It has purpose to it. It really works. I hate to use the word trite, but what I mean is that we've seen a lot of time travel stuff, and this one had a logic to it that I liked.

IGN: We saw the Justice Society in their prime back in the second episode of this season. How would you say things have changed for the team in the 40 years since then?

Henriksen: Well, certainly things have changed. The world has changed since [Election Day], for us. It's a real thing. It's a phenomenon. We don't live that long, humans don't. And so 40 years is a very long time. Many things have happened. You try to catch up with people who you assume were traitors, in a way, and it turns out there's a story behind it. And it's a good one in the way they wrote it. Every ten-year juncture, the world changes a bit more. They handled it very well. And the actors on it are very cool and very generous. It was a very pleasant experience in its roughness. [laughs]

And there's no mistake that they somehow timed this episode with the election. I mean, we go to the White House.

IGN: Building on that, we know that this episode takes place in the '80s and revolves around the Reagan administration. Can you talk a little more about what brings the team to the White House in the first place?

Henriksen: You know, my worry is tipping too much. There's a lot to this. The era, when you go to the Cold War and mutually assured destruction and that kind of thing, that was a very difficult time. It really was. Berlin and all these things that were going on, and all the disappointments and the deaths and everything else - that's very dramatic stuff. Especially if you deal with it in a respectful way. And again, it's comic books. There's a whole art to choosing the things you want to talk about. And they did it very well, I thought.

IGN: Vixen was a member of the Justice Society. Is it safe to assume there's going to be a reunion between Obsidian and Vixen in this episode?

Henriksen: I don't know how much to tell you. [laughs] You haven't seen it yet, have you?

IGN: No, I haven't.

Henriksen: I think you're going to dig it! I remember the '80s really well. Of course, a lot of the characters involved here haven't aged, and Obsidian has. And with age comes maturity and a different take on things. It's really something. I enjoyed it, I really did. And they channeled me down the right road. And the wardrobe. I heard through the grapevine that what I was wearing cost $15,000. And they had made two of them. It's such an amazing piece of art. The woman who makes the costumes [Vicky Mulholland] did an amazing job. What Obsidian wears when he's in action is really well done, the whole thing.

IGN: That means we will get to see Obsidian in action again and using his powers?

Henriksen: Yeah, absolutely. They taught me how. [laughs]

IGN: You referenced this earlier, but in the comics, Obsidian is the son of the original Green Lantern. Will there be any references to his father in this episode?

Henriksen: Yeah, there will be. I couldn't believe what they did. Really good work there.

One of the big hooks of the early episodes of “Legends of Tomorrow” was the introduction of the Justice Society of America. The Legends met up with the JSA — in the prime of their operating power — in the early 1940s, but the beauty of time travel allows the team to see these characters years later without having aged themselves.

“Legends of Tomorrow’s” fifth episode finds the team at the White House in the 1980’s during the Reagan administration and running into Obsidian (Lance Henriksen) — one of the JSA members they previously ran into — who’s now much older.

Variety spoke with Henriksen about playing the aged hero, how he reacts to running into the team again and more.

What was it like stepping into Obsidian’s shoes?

When I was a kid, I was an avid comic book reader. I thought it was better than television. To be asked to be a superhero, a super anything, at my age was cool.

What’s Obsidian’s reaction to running into the un-aged Legends, especially Vixen?

It’s really shocking for him. There are so many unresolved things that are still floating in his life, but it’s kind of healing. It’s like meeting an ex-wife and really liking them after many years. There have been some deaths that have happened over the years. Time heals a lot of wounds, especially in a case like this.

How has Obsidian changed in the last 40 years?

There’s a humbling thing about time. It doesn’t take pity on anybody, and you end up really grateful for anything that’s alive and of value. You learn to do that because you’re running out of time. It’s the drama of life.

There wasn’t a huge focus on Obsidian in the JSA episode. What do we learn about him in this episode?

He’s the son of the Green Lantern, but he went a little dark in his youth. We also learn about elements of abandonment and rage about misunderstood things that have happened. There’s been a lot of confusion and disappointments over the years.

Lance Henriksen, an actor who has appeared in dozens of films including the Alien, Predator, and Terminator franchises, comes to DC's Legends of Tomorrow tonight to play the 1980s version of Todd Rice -- the former Justice Society of America member known as Obsidian.

Henriksen told ComicBook.com that even though he had to squeeze the role in between bigger projects, he was glad he did it after the cast welcomed him with open arms and the production both impressed him -- and left him with a surprisingly warm sense of deja vu.

"The whole shoot was really fun, it really was," said Henriksen. "[The story] went from the 40s to the 80s to now. Being the son of the Green Lantern and having redeemed himself -- by the end of this show you realize that a lot of healing has gone on....The story is so well-grounded and well-done that I had a really good time."

Henriksen shot the episode between two films -- a comedy called After the Sun Fell, which began its life as a Broadway play, and Gone Are the Days, a Western in which he plays the lead. And while the genre star has never been a live-action superhero before now (and it seemed like an unlikelihood given his age and the way superhero movies and TV skew young), he is familiar to the tropes of the superhero genre.

"When I was a kid, I had comic books rather than watching television. I loved comic books. So here I am, I get an offer like that, and I said 'You bet I'll do it!...I don't know what I'm going to do, I don't know what the script is, but I'm going to do it,'" he laughed. "And then I got the script and I was really excited to do it."

One of the exciting things about the role, Henriksen told us, was that audiences had already briefly met Obsidian in the season's second episode, "Justice Society of America," in which he was played by Watchmen's Dan Payne. He had at least an implied history, and there was no need (or really any logical plot reason) to spend much of Henriksen's guest appearance delving into elaborate backstory that would eat up screen time he could otherwise use to flesh out Todd Rice.

"I personalize everything, or I try to. There is an element of anger and confusion in this character because things have happened over the years that were completely misunderstood, being not a time traveler, and then it all became revealed to me and it's a very kind of humbling experience."

And while he didn't work directly with Payne, he said that having some elements of the character already established helped him even beyond just the saved screen time.

"That was very, very helpful," Henriksen told us. "There was a lot of subtext available to me in that role -- and also this guy has an edge as well. They just let me do my work, which is great, and it's not wasted on establishing something we already know."

Ironically, this time around the Legends of Tomorrow will time travel to a time and place where Henriksen has already been in his real life: in 1983, when he appeared in the film The Right Stuff, Henriksen and other members of the cast were invited to the Reagan White House.

"We go to the White House during the Reagan era. They dragged me along, and it's like 'Wow, that's unexpected that I would have any feeling about that,'" Henriksen said. "I've actually been to the White House -- when we did The Right Stuff, we got invited to the White House and so I had that feeling when I walked on set. 'Wait a minute: this is the White House. I've been here!'"

More than that, though, it was having a solid script and an arc that made Henriksen glad to team up with the crew of the Waverider this go-'round.

"The character has an axe to grind at first and then he starts through the course of the show to hear about certain things he was wrong about -- and some things he was right about. So it has a very act-able quality about it. It's not just flash. It was a perfect role for me in a way. It felt good."
